Honda To Recall 400,000 Cars

Honda has now joined Toyota in a recall of automobiles.

Recalls are quite common but only recently with the massive Toyota recall concerning braking problems, has the issue gained notoriety.

Honda will recall 400,000 plus cars, also due to a problem with the braking system. The problem is called a “soft brake pedal” problem.

The cars affected include the Odyssey and Element. To be more precise 68,000 Elements and 344,000 Odyssey’s may be involved in the recall. The drivers are complaining of brake pedals which feel soft. Honda engineers say it is not a dangerous thing and that air has a tendency to get into the brake lines. By the end of April, all owners will be notified if their cars are on the recall list.

It is becoming apparent as cars become more complex, that issues like these will be occurring with increasing frequency. When recalls or issues are publicized, companies begin to get an ever increasing number of complaints. Many of them are imaginary with nothing wrong with the cars. Others have “buyer’s remorse” and really do not want the car any more. Still others are looking to make a quick buck, like what is beginning to be alleged in the recent California case concerning a Toyota Prius.
