Jim Yong Kim, the new Chief of the World Bank was born on Korea. He is a United States doctor and was head of Dartmouth College beginning in 2009. From 1993 to 2009, Kim was the Chair of Global Health and Social Medicine for Harvard Medical School. He has worked for the World Health Organization and for Partners in Health.

Jim Yong Kim takes the elected office of Chief of the World Bank on Monday, July 2, 2012.

He has a grave responsibility of contending with global poverty, health, and giving monetary help to the developing countries of the world.
