Earlier this week, Toronto mayor Rob Ford surprised everyone when he did not attend a press conferences on Tuesday morning. At the time, the press secretary announced that the mayor could not make the conference because he was feeling unwell at the moment. While the crowd was disappointed, it turns out that the issue may be a bit more serious than what was initially described.

Later that evening, the mayor entered Humber River Regional Airport because he was still not feeling very well, according to the National Post.

Mayor Ford had stated that he was feeling unwell and that he had a strong irritation in his throat.

While the mayor is not feeling well, doctors do not seem too concerned over his health. Doctors have stated that the mayor has a minor issue in his throat, which then activated his asthma to make him feel even worse. The doctors have stated that he is expected to make a full and quick recovery.

The statement from mayoral spokespersons George Christopoulos said Mayer Ford is good spirits.

“Doctors have identified an irritation in the mayor’s throat and stomach which have aggravated his asthma and he is being treated for those conditions,” the statement noted. “The Mayor is in good spirits and is resting comfortably. He is looking forward to going home as soon as doctors allow.”

This is not the first time that the mayor has had health issues. Within the past few years, the mayor also had a painful bout with kidney stones. Mayor Ford has also been very vocal in his attempt to lose weight and get back into better overall physical condition.
