Demand for the new iPhone 5 in Canada and the United States could overwhelm Apple and leave some hopeful buyers waiting for the world’s most desired smartphone.
The Apple Store release a price comparison tool for anxious iPhone 5 buyers who are eagerly planning their purchases. The comparison tool reveals the following pricing scheme for Canadian customers:
16GB iPhone 5 – CAD $699
32GB iPhone 5 – CAD $799
64GB iPhone 5 – CAD $899
Most of the pre-order activity in the United States is taking place through major wireless providers like AT&T, which means that American iPhone fans will have to settle for an iPhone 5 that has been encumbered and configured by the carrier, at least at the beginning and until tinkerers find a way to “jailbreak” the smartphone. Canadian consumers can get their hands on unlocked versions of the iPhone 5 right from the stores.
The iPhone 5 will run on iOS 6 and will feature the new digital cartography of Apple Maps rather than the old Google Maps workaround. The personal assistant Siri has also been improved with additional commands and language support.
