An Amber Alert has been issued for a three-month-old baby who was in the back seat of a car that was stolen Sunday afternoon in the northwest Toronto neighbourhood of Rexdale, near Albion Road and Highway 27.
The baby boy has short, dark hair, according to the Ontario Provincial Police. Police have not issued the child’s name.
The boy was in the back seat of his father’s 1997 tan, four-door Camry when it was stolen Sunday afternoon, police said. Its license plate is BWRC161.
Police say the car was taken by a white man, between the ages of 40 and 45, with short blond hair. He is described as five feet, eleven inches tall, with a medium build and was wearing a backpack.

“We are appealing to anyone who sees the [vehicle] to please [call] police immediately,” police said.

Police corrected an earlier statement that the car was last seen near Albion Road and Steeles Avenue West. Police also originally said the car is grey.
