Abbotsford, B.C. Student Dies On Ski Trip In Whistler

A student at Mennonite Educational Institute in Abbotsford, B.C. died while skiing in Whistler.

The school reported that 11 students and two adults from the Mennonite Educational Institute ski and snowboard club were on a trip when a student was reported missing on Friday.

“That afternoon, MEI was notified that one student was missing which resulted in a search by Whistler personnel,” said MEI administrator Vijay Manuel.

This disappearance resulted in research by Whistler staff. “The results of the research led to the devastating news that our student was dead,” the school said in a message posted on its website.
