Washington (eCanadaNow) - A 9-year old girl in Greece had to go through surgery to remove her own embryonic twin from her stomach.

Doctors from the Larissa General Hospital in Greece examined the gril, who complained of stomach pain.  They found that behind a tumor was her twin in her stomach.  It had a head, hair, and eyes, and was over 2-inches long.

Reports state that this happens in 1 out of every 500,000 sets of twins, with one twin absorbing the other twin in the womb.

Following the surgery, she is just about fully recovered in what has ended up being an amazing medical story.
