Washington (ECN) - Senate Republicans are currently under a great deal of pressure to block a planned 10.6% pay cut to Medicare doctors.
Each and every day, these doctors care for patients under Medicare, and as of late the American Medical Association has been running ads on radio and television, putting pressure to block the pay cuts.
The Medicare doctors pay cut went into effect July 1, but a move by the Bush Administration stopped payments showing the cut until Congress came to a decision on what to do.
Currently, this is at the top of the to-do list following the Fourth of July recess.
