Chimpanzee Attack Victim Charla Nash Tells Story On Oprah: Photo

The victim of a vicious chimpanzee attack revealed her face on Oprah.

Charla Nash of Stamford, Connecticut was attacked by her friend and employer’s pet chimpanzee on February 16, 2009.

Travis, a 200 pound chimpanzee, had left the house with his owner’s car keys. That’s when Sandra Herold called Nash over to help her herd Travis back into the house. When Nash arrived at the Herold’s home, the chimpanzee began his brutal attack. The chimpanzee ripped off Nash’s hands, nose, lips and eyelids.

She is now blind and must eat through a straw, but doctors are amazed at her resiliency. Charla Nash is expected to leave the Cleveland Clinic, where she has been since the attack, in a few weeks – a full year sooner than doctors had anticipated.

While Nash thankfully has no memory of the attack, she is not looking at the past too closely.

“I’ve gotten happier,” Nash said. “I want to get so that I don’t want to be alone anymore. I want to be around my family. I want it so that if I need help, they’re there for me.”

Nash told Oprah that she’s looking forward to living a fulfilling life with her daughter and two brothers.

After seeing this woman’s face, I think its amazing that she even lived through this attack. And when I first saw the poor woman’s face, I said to my self “OMG..how horrible!! That poor woman….how can she go through life like this??” And she has such a positive outlook….that is wonderful!
I, myself, love animals, but this shows how careful one must be…you just never know….

that is so weird to actually think about it.

This lady deserves at least 50 million – minimum. She’s going to need a lot of care in her life, and I want a jury to make a statement about having a 200 lb chimp or any other dangerous wild animal for a pet. I knew her face was going to look bad, but I didn’t think it was going to look that bad.
