Virtually Ever After: Man Marries Virtual Girlfriend

A Japanese man has fallen in love and married his favorite video game character. He goes by the name of Sal9000, and met his lovely wife in the video game, Love Plus.

The game is played on the Nintendo DS system, and encourages a man to woo a woman within the game. The game teaches the man how to keep a woman happy by buying gifts, and taking the virtual woman on dates. If the man does not successfully woo the woman, the game restarts after 100 days.

He wooed his character right to the altar. He took his DS to Guam, and has legally married his love character, Nene Anegasaki. They are honeymooning in Guam. He is planning a formal wedding reception in Tokyo, which will be live cast for the world to see.

This game is increasing in popularity among the techno geek in the Japanese culture.

The men are so absorbed with gaming, they literally developed a way to teach men how to deal with women. This is a little frightening for the real Japanese women who are forced to compete with virtual characters for the love of a man.

  3. Matt says:

Whatever happened to the sanctity of marriage? Voters in CA and ME take away the existing right of gay men and women to marry, but this man is allowed to marry a woman who isn’t even real?

  4. Leroy says:

You can marry a gay person that isn’t even real…

  5. Fred says:

That is awesome. I can’t stop laughing! I wonder how the honeymoon went!

  7. Chuck says:

Matt says “existing right”. Huh? Some states are trying to establish gay marriage, not remove or change existing law. Some lone liberal court deciding to be the voice of the state or country is not existing law. Try to play a little closer to the truth if you want to be taken seriously.

  8. Hank says:

FRED You are an uneducated fucking retard. Learn to spell if you are going to attack someone else.

CHUCK One lone liberal court? Have you ever heard of “state supreme court” or “state constitution” We have these things in place to keep the power in the state governments hands, not the federal governments’. I’ll bet you don’t even know the meaning of “socialism” but you are scared to death of it aren’t you????

  9. Alex says:

  10. Mat says:

well, he can do whatever the fuck he wants. if he wants to marry a video game, let him. if you havent noticed, this sort of thing happens every day. the only reason we are hearing about it is because NOBODY has any fucking idea what else to talk about.
