Scott Penk, a popular morning talk show host is in some hot water after an incident on Monday morning. Penk, who is a British talk show host on 96.2 FM “The Revolution”, played the popular song “Jump” by Van Halen after reporting that police were in process of attempting to sway a woman from jumping off of a highway overpass.
The incident caused the police to have to shut down four lanes of highway traffic during the morning rush hour. Penk claimed he played the song after receiving a request from a caller, and that he wanted to empathize with drivers.
Penk, whose show is called “TV’s Naughtiest Blunders”, has been widely criticized by the general public. Many are calling for Penk to be taken off the air, which may be difficult to do considering Penk owns the radio station.
Penk has continued to defend himself saying that he did not intend for the song to make the woman jump and that he is sad that she ultimately did, although he is relieved she sustained only minor injuries. Penk also stated that he does not regret playing the song, and that he would do it again.
