Second pregnant man?
Scott Moore, 30, of California will be the second man to become pregnant and give birth. Scott, whom is currently married to his partner Thomas, lives in California and is due in February.
The couple are both trans gender males that are legally married because Scott’s birth certificate still has him listed as a female. Scott and Thomas met at a support group that was designed to help trans gender people adjust.
Scott decided at an early age that he wanted to become a man. By age 16 he was undergoing hormone treatments and had his breasts surgically removed. Due to financial constraints, he did not complete the operations to fully change him over to a man. His partner Thomas, has had all the surgeries needed to totally transform him into a man. Thomas has been living as a man since the age of 19 when his last surgery took place.
The couple live with their two young sons who are adopted. The new baby is going to be a boy they believe from the ultra sound testing. The couple is very excited about their new arrival though understand that not everyone will understand. Regardless, the two men wait in joyful anticipation for the arrival of their newest family member.

I completely agree with in an apple’s statement…Men cannot get pregnant. This man was born a female therefore his inner organs are still the same. Throw on a beard and some other extra parts and claim that a so called “man” is having a baby is just rediculous.

Scientifically speaking, the hormonal systems of the male and female body are different from each other. Though in general, the male and femal bodies will adapt to stresses in like manners, there are still differences in how the femal and male body peform. Also, the anatomical structures of of bones and organs are different. For instance, the femal body has no prostate gland and widen hips prepared for child birth, while the male body has narrow hips and a prostate gland.
There are certain instances where a genetic mutation will occur in the Sex Determining Genes. De la Chapelle syndrome is one istance when a male is produced with two X chromosomes (males typically have XY chromosomes) but the second X chromosome contains material (genetic information) from the Y chromosome. Thus, the individual is phenotypically male, but is genetically female.
Also, mutation in sex determining genes during meiosis can cause hermaphrodites to be produced. Hermaphrodites are individuals who contain both male and female body parts.
My point in referencing these disorders is to show abnormalities in social agenda. A medical doctor who delivers a child with de la Chapelle syndrome, considers that child to have a defect or disorder in their genetic makeup; something went wrong in the process of regular fetal development. Likewise, a child born to be a hermaphrodite is consider to have a disorder. The fact that these events are called disorders, shows that they are out of order or not normally occuring (webster dictionary).
My point is that sexual orientation cannot be determined alone on how a person “feels” they should be. From the beginning sexual orientation is decided by the placement of X and Y chromosomes in genetic makeup, which produced certain female and male characteristics such as women having wider hips than men; men having a penis and women having a vagina.
When istances occur where an individual has genetic mutations in the genes (such as hemaphrodites or de la chapelle syndrome), these instances are considered by the medical community to be abnormal.
This is not hatred, but factual information approved by any learned peron.

I’ve always supported a person’s choice for transgendering, and I have nothing against gay people whatsoever. I’m a liberal voter. But I must say that this choice does seem a bit wrong somehow. Hope the parents are good to their kids, and can raise them well. I wouldn’t join in and say that the kids will suffer. If they are loved and treated well, they’ll likely be fine.

the “adopted” kids are biologically THomas’s. . .from a previous relationship. Scott legally adopted them, that’s why it says that they are adopted geez. You say they were “allowed” to bring a child into the world, as if transgender people are on some state-mandated birthday control! Get a grip. If they are good parents (which they seem to be since they are doing fine with the two kids they already have) they will find a way to protect the third child from all those psychological terrors you are so afraid of. But what I really wanted to thank you for pointing out that much more serious issue: How could Jessica’s parents, not only let her do this, but surely support and make this change happen? I’m all for adults making decisions for themselves, even in the case of elective surgery,(because who am I to tell people what to do?) But extreme physical alterations doesn’t seem to be the answer to self-acceptance.
And these adults have clearly led complicated lives, like we all have. But the pure fact that they both suffered from similar severe emotional issues should made them wonder how their children will undoubtably suffer a similar fate… & just because a person with severe emotional problems takes some hormones, does not make them stable and fit to have children… of course, there are countless traditional, heterosexual parents who aren’t fit or stable either, and if they put themselves in front of the eyes of the world, I would disagree with their choices as well.

I really think the title of the article should point out that they are a trans-gendered couple, in the process of having a child. This child in not coming out of a man, it is coming out of a woman’s body, that has been altered and changed, on the outside, not on the inside (His anatomy is still the anatomy of a women on the inside). So, technically, it is not a pregnant man, it is a pregnant women that went through an incomplete sex change …
If you’re gay, lesbian, or transgender good for you! But for the love of God accept the facts! Two men can not conceive a child. Two women can not conceive a child. Two fully transitioned individuals can not conceive a child. Just because it can be done doesn’t me it SHOULD be done. It is impossible for a man to be pregnant scientifically their bodies are not equip for such a thing. I just have a problem with the entire transgender thing in that if you want to be a man then do that but don’t try to be both a man and a woman (are you confused?). Child birth makes you a woman no matter how much reconstruction you do to yourself. It’s just disgraceful to women who are truly women and are unable to bear children. 1st, we are ALL God’s children, and he loves us perfectly, hatred does NOT come from God.. so people, if you’re going to claim to be a “christian” stop being so hateful, Jesus hung out with sinners! While I do not agree with their lifestyle choices and I am saddened another child will be brought into such confusing circumstances, we should pray for them, and love them where they are at. Judgement belongs to God, not whoever feels like pointing a condemning finger. Take the plank out of your own eye before you point out the splinter in your brother’s. I grew up with a gay father, brother, and cousin… my father did not provide a “normal” life for me, and I have been subjected to an unhealthy view of relationships because of him, but he is not everyone. The gay lifestyle comes with a lot of issues a lot of the times.. my father who hops from boyfriend to boyfriend, is also a severe alcoholic… which is very common in the gay lifestyle, again, not everyone is. BUT, just pray for these children and this couple.. God still loves them, no matter what. He loves the sinner, not the sin.. and when I say that, I refer to myself as well. we are ALL sinners.
Grace and mercy to this family.. pray and stop judging.. be a TRUE example people. Jesus = love, not hatred.
i know scott personally and he is an amazing guy! we met in high school before his surgery. him and thomas are a great couple who have been through so much and it has only maked them stronger. they love their kids more then anything and are great parents.
i am a christian and i know that god loves scott and his whole family as much as he loves me. to all you people out there judging them, let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. all sin is the same. with that said, you passing judgment on a gay couple is just as bad as them being gay…so how about you worry about YOUR relationship with god.

Instead of confused and angred by Scott, maybe we should be frustrated with the writer of this article who misled us all with its title. The author might have done better to call it “Bearded Female Pregnant”, but then again it would lack the sensationalism needed to make it noticeable. In any case, not a newsworthy piece; just fodder for debate and ignorance. Is this what passes for journalism today?

The day a man without a uterus gets pregnant that is the day a Man Has a Baby is news. If a trans has not had their uterus removed or ovaries they are part woman. It doesn’t matter what they feel like, what the truth is they have to have female organs to carry a baby. Last time I checked they cannot make a trans person have the ability to reproduce unless they keep their old sex organs. Doesn’t that make them half and half? The first story was a shocker to the world, and that was more than I needed. Now it seems like if one does it and come out openly with it now its like a trend for men now to have the ablity to get pregnant. My thoughts are if they adopted two children in the beginning, because they lived as gay men why now have a baby? My last thought is does any one of them gay or transgender have a clue of who they really are? I would like to see the media not give this crap much attention and report news and information that is worth reporting.

I think its a wonderful story of self expression and identity. Scott is a strong man and I feel that if he had the strength to tell the world he is a man, then he will have the strength and courage to raise a child. Children adapt and many children who grow up in gay families are more accepting and have a better understanding of themself. Congrats Scott.
Does anyone know if this is safe for the fetus? We’re talking about a female taking androgens to look like a male. Doesn’t that have a negative effect on the growing fetus? What are the long term effects on these offspring who are developing in a female body that is hormonally imbalanced?
