A small plane made an emergency landing on the New Jersey Turnpike in Cherry Hill.
The twin-seater Cessna 152, had engine trouble and the oil pressure was dropping. Because of this, the twin-seater Cessna 152 began to lose altitude.
The pilot and owner of the plane, 28 year-old Jon Vogt, made an emergency landing just south of Exit 4 on the New Jersey Turnpike because it was too dark to try landing in an open field. He then navigated the plane to the shoulder of the road, where cars passed the plane on the left.
Traffic reporter Mike Lankford was the only other passenger on the plane. Miraculously, there were no casualties or injuries for either the two men on the plane or the highway drivers.
Vogt has been a pilot for two years and routinely flies traffic reporters like Lankford over New Jersey for traffic reports. He is a graduate of Airline Transport Professionals Flight Schools in Florida and is a certified instructor at American Flyers in Morristown.
Since September he has been working at Metro Networks Westwood One, which monitors the roads for traffic reports for radio and television stations. Vogt doesn’t plan on taking any time off.

Dear Larry Williams:
My name is Robert E. Scovill Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I am a pilot and aircraft owner. My pilot certificate number is 2146452.
This letter reports the potential for a hazardous quantity of fuel contamination to go undetected in a fuel sample taken during routine preflight procedure from a Cessna 150 or 152 fuel tank. Cessna Aircraft Company manufactured both tanks.
In addition, I am requesting that you take immediate action to alert pilots, aircraft owners, maintenance personnel and Cessna Aircraft Company of the potential for fuel contamination that is caused by this indicated design flaw. Further, I recommend that the FAA re-evaluate the airworthiness aspects of certain components used in preflight procedures intended for the detection of fuel contamination. I am pleased to address the following points in support of this request:
