Texas Cowboy Buys Entire Town

A man in Texas has literally bought an entire town. The exact purchase price has not been revealed, but it is more than likely to be under a million dollars. The very small town of Albert is barely a dot on any map and Easley just happened to notice a billboard advertising the real estate for sale.

The previous owner had purchased the town in 2004 and decided to sell in 2007. He listed the property on eBay with a reserve price of 2.5 million dollars. After no buyers, the town was listed for sale again for $883,000 dollars in 2009.

He visited the town 15 times before making his decision to purchase the whole town. The little ghost town was first established back in 1877 and has been patiently waiting for somebody to scoop it up and restore it to his former glory. Currently, there are just four people that call Albert, Texas home.

Easley has big plans for the town and is already renovating the dance hall next to the ice house or what is known as a tavern for most. The town’s claim to fame includes bragging rights for teaching President Lyndon B. Johnson in a local schoolhouse.
