According to authorities in Flint, Michigan, a man was robbed after trying to purchase crack cocaine with a credit card. The man, who is actually under arrest for stealing a car, was caught by police after he reported the incident, in which the car and his credit card were stolen from him. The suspect, who is being held in Genesee County Jail, called police to report the theft of both items.

According to police reports, the vehicle, which is a 2003 Chevy Malibu, was originally stolen out of Lapeer, Michigan, which is a community located 50 miles northwest of Detroit.

The man, who was robbed just before midnight this past Thursday. He was robbed near the intersection of Wolcott Street and University Avenue. The incident happened just a few blocks from the main campus of the University of Michigan-Flint campus. Flint, Michigan is widely regarded as one of the most crime ridden cities, and it has been largely affected by high unemployment.
