A 47-year-old woman goes in for a new set of breasts and comes out with four; she now wants $5 million to pay for her pain and suffering.
Maria Alaimo consulted with Dr. Keith Berman, whom she found in an online ad, in 2003 in order to bring her bra cup size up to a 36C. What she came out of surgery with was nothing less than a disaster; she came out of the operation room with basically four breasts rather than the two that she had requested.
Alaimo is suing Dr. Berman for $5 million for damages caused by the surgery. She claims that the surgery caused pain, loss of self esteem, and embarrassment to name a few. She also alleges that this is the reason she and her husband, Dominic Alaimo, divorced; she refused to undress in front of him because she was too embarrassed.
Photos taken after the surgery reveal scars on Alaimo’s breasts which Kuharski referred to as “double-bubble” deformities.
Dr. Berman said that he reviewed all the risks with Alaimo before the surgery and that she was concerned only with being glamorous, while Alaimo says that Dr. Berman was only worried with collecting his $7,000 fee.
I’m on the side of the woman here….. I haven’t seen the pictures of her, but if a doctor did this to me or my family member, I would tell him he messed up big time AND he had to have been trying to mess up in order to mess up this damned bad.

That Ms. Alaimo got married to someone she didn’t even feel comfortable undressing in front of, never mind getting a plastic surgeon online, makes me wonder how much common sense she had. Despite that, she doesn’t “deserve” what happened to her. I hope she can get things worked out. I’m inclined to blame the doctor for incompetence, but the article was vague on several important details, so I can’t even say for certain if he was truly at fault.

well since there is no picture I can’t say for sure but I’m assuming they just fell out of place like implants are not really connected to the body like breasts so if breasts can sag down I’d imagine the implants would a million times more. Everyones body is different so nothing is for sure, she new the risks or should have before going in and she did choose to go to a really scketchy sounding dr.. I can see getting money to have it fixed or it beingfixed for her but not 5 million dollars, that beyond stupid

So, you’re justifying her actions by saying that she was vain and saying “God thinks it was a bad idea.” How do YOU know what God is thinking? Have you talked to him? I think the docter is to blame in this situation. But i’d think it is mostly half part of the womans fault.
She wanted implants. Well, as the docter, i’d walk her thruogh the pre-cautions. But, the thing is, is that they dont use cups that stay sturdy in place. From what i’ve heard in most plastic surgeon offices, they use plastic bags with gel. But, even though thats all i’ve heard, i am not that stupid to think they dont secure it. The docter is is at fault for most likely leaving the breast implants in-secure in there places. But, in the other half of the box it is the “victims” fault for choosing a plastic surgeon of the internet. This was MOST likely his first implant job. All the other shit is to blame the ghetto ass editor, who obviously does not know shit about adding pictures or even fucking links! I mean come on, so bland and lifeless with out the details.

Pictures are definitely necessary. The article mentions Double Bubble deformity which was explained in the risks for the surgery. This may have been a more serious case of the deformity, but it is an established potential risk to breast augmentation and while it is unfortunate, one can’t blame the doctor when a risk explained before the surgery happens to occur. You knew the risks when you took the surgery.
