Lawrence Reynolds was set to die by lethal injection Tuesday but the execution was delayed due to an apparent drug overdose.
Reynolds, a 43-year-old American death row prisoner, was sentenced to death by lethal injection in 1994 for killing his Cuyahoga Falls neighbor. The execution was halted when Reynolds was found unconscious in his cell Sunday night. Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has order the execution to be delayed until he has recovered. He is currently being held at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown.
Julie Walburn, a spokeswoman for Ohio prison authorities, would not reveal which drugs were taken by Reynolds or how he got them, but did say that they suspect that this was ‘self-injurious behavior’ and possibly an attempt to take his life. She said that he is located at a Youngstown hospital and is stable and showing signs of consciousness.
The fact that this inmate was able to obtain drugs and take them under a 72-hour watch routine for inmates approaching an execution date is raising many eyebrows. During this time, guards are supposed to keep inmates under constant observation and make log entries every 30 minutes.
The execution has been rescheduled for March 16th at 10:00 a.m.

The American justice, first they save it and Then they murder it.
Pardon .no they are going to murder it, are going to execute it.
