A woman robs a market in Southern California Tuesday but ends up with a mere $6.
Growing up, we were taught that is does not pay to steal; in this case momma was right. A Hispanic woman that is said to be in her 20′s burst into a market in Thermal, Calif. with a semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash from ten of the patrons. When she was exiting the store, she demanded more money from someone entering the store. She left the store with a mere $6, according to Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
According to Deputy Valenzuela, the robbery took place at 2.56 p.m. local time at the La Chicanita Market in Thermal, Calif.
The woman drove away in a two-door vehicle that resembled a Honda; the vehicle was black with white spots. The Hispanic woman was wearing a headdress over her face and a jacket, according to witnesses.
If caught, it seems she will end up paying more than she received; first-time armed robbery offenders generally get around two and a half year’s jail time.
The woman is still on the run, so investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Deputy Macken at the Indio Sheriff’s Station at 760-863-8990.
