Young Kids Help Their Mom Give Birth

About 1:30 A. M. on March 9th Alana Sanders knew she was going to have a baby. Her husband was gone to work when she went into labor. She was in the bathroom of her home at the time.

Alana’s two older children assisted her in the delivery. Jabari age 9 and Faith age 11 were the only people there to assist their mom.

Alana had Jabari call 911 and Faith call her father and tell him to come back home from Livermore where he was delivering papers.

It was a quick delivery. One push later and a 9 lb 4 ounce baby boy was delivered.

The two children worked with the 911 dispatcher in a very calm fashion. This is not something you see everyday from kids this age. The 911 tape proved the kids mainly Faith worked in a precise manner directed by the dispatcher. She even tied off the umbilical cord when it snapped. This was very important cause it could have damage their little brother.

The husband and father Geoffrey was very proud of his children in this precious time. He stated his children were “Super heroes” when he was not there.

The newborn baby boy, Joseph and mom Alana are doing fine.
