A group in Turkey is claiming to have found Noah’s Ark. This group is Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers.
They say the original ark, where Noah brought in the animals 2X2 and saved them has been located. As of right now, they are saying they are 99.9% sure that is what they have found. The structure they located does have spots they say would be perfect for holding animals.
It is on top of Mount Ararat. This is the highest point in this area. It has been rumored before that this was where the ark ended up being left after the water went down. The carbon dating on items found inside show that they are around 4,800 years old.
This would make their discovery from around the same time that Noah was believed to build an ark.
In the past, people have stated they found the ark, but this time they honestly believe it is the real deal.
There have been no humans living in the area where it was located.
They are trying now to get a ruling that no one can be near this site to protect it. Then they can dig and see what proof they find.

Don’t you mean Gilgamesh’s ark?
The people of the bible migrated out of Sumaria. Unlike the Sumerians who could write, the people of Abraham could not. There is stone tablets from the 7th century about the story of Gilgamesh (likely 27th century B.C. He was told by the gods to build an ark, and load two of every animal on board. There was a great flood, he released a dove which signaled there was land, and the ark came to a rest at the top of a mountain. Sounds familiar eh?
So like I said earlier… Don’t you mean Gilgamesh’s ark?
hello gilgamesh came after the story of the flood wake up gilgamesh only confirms the true story admit it bible has always been proven right u just cant stand the fact that evidence after evidence
Sorry Ed but you’re wrong!
The Epic of Gilgamesh was written long before the story of Noah and was stolen by the Old Testament writers. The earliest version known dates to around 2100 BCE, whereas the story of Noah was penned sometime between 1450 and 450 BCE.
In fact, the early Hebrews stole a lot of their mythology from the Sumerians and Babylonians.
As to what those “archeologists” found up on the mountain, I have no idea what it is, but I know what it isn’t, a 450 foot boat built for a non-existent global flood.
If the story is true, it cannot have been stolen. All people have an inalienable right to the truth. If it was not true, but simple-minded mythology, then why on earth would they want to “steal” it. What motivation do you propose the Israelites had to take on the mythos of Babylon?
Actually, no they don’t mean Gilgamesh’s Ark. The epic of Gilgamesh cannot have happened the way the story indicates because a cube is not a good sailing vessel. Everything in it would have died horribly from being turned around on all 3 axis in the water. I also don’t know why you think Abraham’s people couldn’t read and write, or why you think it’s necessary for them to be able to to record happenings.
Not saying they have found the Ark, or that it even still exists to be found if it ever was built, but your argument is …well…weak to say the least.
Dan, you are a dunce. The commenter Bob Villa above doesn’t believe its Gilgamesh’s ark! He is using a simple and transparent rhetorical device to point out that its neither Gilgamesh’s ark nor Noah’s ark because both stories are ancient fiction.
The flood event happened before Gilgamesh and there are descending accounts(like that of Gilgamesh) about the flood all over the world. It was written down by Moses, who wrote Genesis, long after Noah lived.
It is Noah’s Ark…just as it reads in the Bible. The One and only God told him to build the ark….remember??? Thou shalt have no other gods before me…that was the problem…the reason for the flood. Because of Noah and his family’s faithfulness and obedience to God and only GOD they were saved. The earth became corrupt and full of violence…thus destruction!! Remember???
Have an awesome day!! God’s blessings and peace be yours!
please, please stop the god bandwagon. religion has not one shred of evidence to support it, and worse than that, it causes all the problems between people which it claims to help solve. Just grow up and take personal responsibility for your actions.
First off, you do not make sense. “Religion has not one shred of evidence to prove it”? How about this? Christianity exists. There are Christian churches…is that proof enough? Secondly, man causes his own problems…not religion. Man may use the, “In the name of religion” excuse for his actions, but they are still the actions of man, not religion.
um, no pretty sure they got it right bud…if you ever read the bible in your life, you’d know that noah built it, and that theres only one true god…not gods…don’t try to act smart..:p
say it with me. God, not gods, GOD.
Interesting, they block anybody gaining access to the site, so any scientists are turned away.
Then these crazy religious freaks will claim they have found loads of evidence, and present it
But nobody will ever be able to investigate their claims, because they will make sure no scientists can gain access.
It’s a boat, unless it’s 25 miles wide and 25 miles long, it can’t house 2 of each species on the planet.
Religious Fail.
There is only 1 reason people actively deny biblical truth. They love their darkness more than the light. Same reason people reject the beckoning of the Holy Spirit. Hell is this, God will not drag you kicking and screaming into His eternal presence after a lifetime of rejection. He simply ratifies your earthly choices.
Biblical and truth are mutually exclusive terms. The stories in the Bible, particularly in Genesis, are ludicrous to say the least.
I don’t deny the Bible because I wish to stay in spiritual darkness, I deny them because they are impossible and do not have a shred of evidence in their favour.
People condemning me to hell for this automatically lose the argument in my book.
Berny, no one is condemning you to hell. Physics alone states that energy is not created or destroyed, just converted. So the life energy that makes us humans/spritual beings necessarily is converted upon death. An open minded individual should investigate the Bible before dismissing it as mythos fantasy. Have u ever studied the peer reviewed articles that demonstrates the names and birthdates of over 200 rabbis encoded in equidistant letter sequnces in the Torah, or the names of all the New Testament players at the crucifixion encoded aroung the Isaiah 53 chapter that describes the suffering servant? Isaiah was translated into Latin 500 years before Christ, yet encoded among the plain text of the prophetic account of the crucifixion are the details of the participants 500 years before it happened. Logic, reason, math and statistics provide evidence that the original Hebrew and Greek texts of scripture were penned with a singular message, by an author outside of our time/space domain. Mainstream media ignores such things. Just Google Indian Mounds, and find that when they were originally excavated around the Americas, bones of giants with 6 fingers and toes, and double rows of teeth were found. Published in the newspapers of the time, evidence of the Genesis 6 account of the Nephilim. The hybrid offspring of fallen angels and women. Its a no brainer to those who look into these things without bias. I think it is called the scientific method.
The ‘encoding’ of stories and hidden meanings is simple statistics, my friend. You could find references to Dr Seuss in a cookery book if you were looking for it.
Simplestatistics, that is an easy dismissal, just not true. The equidistant frequency of the encoded messages is one thing, the relevance to the plaint text where the encoded messgaes are found, indicate purposeful placement. See, no research on the doubters, just restatements of easy dismissals from other doubting critics. Where is the scientific thinkning with you conditioned secularists?
It’s astounding what people who clearly know nothing about science call science. Astounding, and sad.
No giant bones have ever been found, nor have bones of dinosaurs been found alongside the bones of humans. These, and many others, are typical hoaxes Bible literalists fall for repeatedly. If I were you I would investigate my sources more closely. Nephilim never existed outside of the minds of the ones who wrote Genesis.
Who said that? I can’t see you. Its so dark in here.
First: “biblical truth” is an oxymoron; when the “truth” is something you have to “believe” and can be different for each person, then that is not truth by any definition.
Second: you, like many many many Christians, always ask – and so generously answer – “Why not?” The real question is “Why?” There are millions of things that I could believe. I choose to see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. The last time I checked, THAT is how one finds the truth.
By the way, you are self-righteous and, well, religious!
Hey, seriously, first off I am not self-righteous, I am a self-proclaimed piece of S*#t, just doing my best. Secondly, there is not a religious bone in my body. I happen to be an educated engineer, with a crazy curious mind, that doesn’t believe what I am told, but rather found Biblical Truth through years of research, then found faith. As far as oxymorons, the old testament did assert that the earth is a sphere, that the oceans had river currents beneath the surface, and also used pi to describe the dimensions of a circular cauldron. Aren’t those these considered to be truth? At least scientific truths? Come on, people. Lazy lazy, lazy doubters. Do your research before dismissing Bible codes.
Nizzle, you rock brother!
As far as messages coming in from Mother Mary, when the Ark will be found, know the End Times are upon us. Don’t laugh. This is a sign.
It didn’t have to house 2 of each ‘species’, it was 2 of each ‘kind’. There’s a big difference.
Given the number of air breathing ‘kinds’ current and extinct, and obviously the younger ones if their role is to repopulate, then a feasability study clearly shows there was easily room for all animal ‘kinds’, food and plenty of room to spare. The ark is likely the shape and volume of nearly 600 railroad cars.
Look at a few dinosaur excavations. On 4 different continents, they admit the dinosaurs found died in a catastrophic flood, all around the same time period.
Do you know how often the accepted age of the dinosaurs has changed? Hmmm, why is that? Because they try to make the evidence fit the theory, that’s why sceince proves itself wrong over and over. Grab a few science books from the last 6 or 8 decades and see for yourself. The only thing evolving is the theory.
Unless you have already eliminated a possible answer, the best description of the evidence points to the historical evidence written in the Bible.
Where are you getting your facts, Ed? Because to me there is the distinct aroma of bovine excrement about them. No reputable scientist has ever said that all dinosaur fossils found died in a great worldwide flood. That’s absolute nonsense. Some may have died in local floods, others in other events. Your argument that the scientific facts change continuously is true. Unfortunately for you, this is a strength, not a weakness. Unlike the Bible, scientists revise their theories when presented with new evidence. Evolution is a fact. The Flood of Noah is a fairy tale.
Why are you wasting your time trying to argue against magic with logic. You can never beat magic. Its absurd for people to try and prove or disprove the Ark based on logic. If you believe that god can turn people into pillars of salt, and flood the entire world, then surely you don’t need to use any math to see if its possible to save all the world’s species by putting them in an Ark. Obviously, if God wanted it to work, then it would work. Its like arguing who would win a fight between The Hulk and Batman. It may have some entertainment value, but there is no point beyond that.
True enough.
You can’t reason someone out of something they didn’t reason themselves into.
I just can’t let outright lies go unchallenged.
Seriously?!!!! “KIND”?!!! What does that even mean? What is a “kind”, ED?
People who believe in things are so good at convincing themselves that if they just say that a word means something, then it does. My favourite example is how you believers use the word “truth”. In real life – even YOUR real life, every part of it except for religion – truth refers to things that can be verified. And the truth is something you know, not believe. Yet your definition is “anything I wish or want to be true, that I can believe in”. Nice try.
Kind, indeed!
Tim, lets seriously think about the possibility of 2 of each species on a boat…
There is this scientific term called ‘Variation’ or some might call it ‘Microevolution’. This is the process of species changing over time– not into entirely new species (lizards to birds) but a new ‘variation’ of a species (house cat to lynx to panther). Noah didn’t need to take every variation of the finch or every breed of horse… just two.
Over the past 6,000 years a good amount of variation has taken place to get the animal variety that we have today. Noah didn’t need to bring fish. He might have only taken a few species of birds.
In your living room (200 square foot), I could fit two newborn oxen, two ponies, two baby elephants, two kittens, two puppies, two tiny gazelle, two baby rabbits, two lizards, two baby crocodile (6 inches long)– they are all itty-bitty tiny little babies!! These animals alone cover a large portion of the developed species we have today through variation. If Noah did the same thing, he has only filled a very very small portion of the 100,000 Sq Ft ship!! What is that, like 0.2% of the boat?! I do believe it is possible Timmy. Try to be a little more open-minded Bro.
Patrick:
Thank you for that answer! I’m sitting here in a one bedroom apartment and I’ve never thought of the “taking baby animals” aboard the ark point of view. They would have been weaned and smaller to house in a large boat of that size. I like your reasoning.
Hard Tymes ~~
If Noah didn’t have aquariums on the Ark, how did the fresh water fish survive the sudden increase in salinity of their habitat? Or how did the salt water fish survive the drastic decrease in the salinity of theirs? The diversity of life on this planet puts the lie to this nonsense.
The global flood is an impossible myth to anyone with a modicum of critical thinking and some scientific knowledge.
Many families of fish contain both fresh and saltwater species. This suggests that the ability to tolerate large changes in salinity was present in most fish at the time of the Flood. Specialization, through natural selection, may have resulted in the loss of this ability in many species since then.
There is also a possibility that stable fresh and saltwater layers developed and persisted in some parts of the ocean. Freshwater can sit on top of saltwater for extended periods of time.
That might make sense if we had a greater quantity of inland salt water lakes. Where did all that flood water go?
It simply doesn’t make any sense unless you factor in massive amounts of “god power” being used to remove all evidence of a global flood.
god can work miricals genious.
Tim it takes “Faith” the same thing it took for Noah to build the Ark; this is what we also need to believe that he built the Ark…
More importantly is to know Jesus Christ and get inside His Ark, by “faith”..
God Loves you Tim.. Have a great day!!
We are saved by Grace thru faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Oh I knew someone would bring in the saved by Grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. Yeshua was a great Jewish teacher who believed in a coming Kingdom of God on Earth…he was really disappointed when the Romans slapped him up on a crucifixtion platform..then along comes Paul who has a seizure of somekind of converts good old Yehsua into a Cosmically Divine creature that was really really suitable to the inhabitants of the Roman Empire he decided to teach his new religion to throughout Greece and Asia Minor..
I don’t disagree that they may be denying access to Scientists, though I hope that’s not the case.
But one has to consider that two of every species may have been a far smaller number 5000 years ago, if you consider that say, all dogs may have come from one or two species of canine, same with bovine species, feline, reptile etc.
actually your wrong bud… scientists ARE allowed to go to the site with permission, they are just blocking it from the public so it won’t be destroyed by haters like you. AND, its proven that the ark can fit 2 of each KIND, not species, of every animal, and there are many more animals/species present day then there were thousands of years ago. The Bible has even more supported evidence than that George Washington was the first president. And the book of Genesis is well supported for many reasons and is not “luda”. Actually, the book of Genesis stated that wind travels in waves which wasn’t discovered for thousands of years, and it also stated that the world was a sphere, at the time where the world was considered flat and would not be discovered for thousands of years after. And If there is a boat up there on that mountain, how else would it have gotten there? So If you honestly have nothing better to do but write unfactual claims then I would really consider getting a life. =)
Have you read the account in Genesis 6…dimensions??
Very large!
UM??? tim its atop a dang mountain!!!! and you dont even no how big it was or the space the animals had gotten and that contributes majorly to the mass of the boat!!! And you also dont know how many animals where in there!
Two of every “kind” of animal. What, you think Noah had poodles on the ark next to the chihuahua cage? Or just two wolves? Duh.
all the nea-sayers need to open your mind. why must you be so closed minded as to suggest that “unless its 25 miles wide and 25 miles long, it can’t house 2 of each species on the planet” What happened to “where there is a will there is a way” I have seen elveators with a maximum capicity of 15 people that have carried 30. im sure you will make fun of me after you read this, however, the fact remains, that just because YOU cant see how it can be done, doesnt mean it cannot be done. Just as Roger Bannister, or anyone else who did something that people said couldnt be done.
Open your mind a bit, perhapss even a lot. Nobody calls you a religious freak becaseu you DONT believe. Lets all keep our big boy clothes on, and act like adults.
Have a great day.
I am curious about why a boat would be at 13000 ft and hope more research is done by non-partisan people. One story from the Bible being proven or unproven does undo the intrinsic value of the Bible to man and the hope that it gives. I refuse to label myself, agnostic,Christian, religious atheist.I prefer to accept that God is too big for man to understand with his mind. The story of Noah certainly has some historical basis, though it may be very different than the account in the bible.Noah perhaps collected only two of many, but not all species,as it is unlikely the entire world was flooded,he was not responsible for the entire numbers of species that survived, just those vital to starting essential populations.Obviously i am not a literalist,i believe faith, and scientific arrogance both can blind us and be astray of the truth.Lets hope something meaningful has been found on the mountain.
I’m open-minded, Patrick.
Just not to the degree that may brains fall out and I then believe every nonsensical thing I read.
Time will tell whether or not this is the real deal. If it turns out that after extensive scientific research that the object is as specified in the bible, then some folks will need to re-evaluate their thinking. If it turns out to be a hoax, the folks who made the claim will be discredited. Time will tell. Be patient.
To Tim:
Your observations are similar to the Anti Global Warming enthusiasts. What hoot. Research more and you’ll find an endless amount of possibilities on why there could be so much truth acknowledged by this discovery. On the other hand… with these truths you’ll find the deception of man obliterated. But feign not dear Tim… there are plenty of your mindsets to keep those torches burning. Your intellectual blindness will certainly live on as was foretold. From the beginning you have had only one choice to make, simple as it may be, pick a side. I pray Tim you come on over as forever is a long time.
Religion Retards Intelligence.
Show me the ark, and I’ll introduce you to Mother Goose!
We had lots of mother geese on our farm, come on over and I will introduce you to them. Very sorry you don’t believe…but remember the old saying…there are no atheists in foxholes!!! When it really comes down to the crunch I fully believe that you will cry out to the one and only GOD!! God’s blessings!!
It is amazing how people can see things only one way. The Bible continues to prove itself. Theory’s such as evolution or the big bang continue to fall apart. Someone mentioned that secular scientists are not allowed to see the Ark. (1) We don’t know that and (2) why don’t secular scientists allow Christian scientists to give their views? Hmm — so hypocritical!!! Non-believers will one day see what is truth and what is false. Unfortunately if they wait until the end it will be too late.
Obviously, Steve, you are not getting your scientific information from reputable sources. Neither the theory of evolution nor the Big Bang are in danger of falling appart anytime soon, especially in light of recent reinforcing discoveries. Only religious fundamentalists seem to think there is no evidence for these. They must have forgotten to tell the rest of the scientific world.
As to this evidence proving the Bible, other than a handful of archeological discoveries confirming the existence of geographical places named in the Old Testament, there is nothing but hoaxes. No evidence of “creation”, no evidence of a global flood, no evidence of a massive exodus from Egypt or of wandering in the desert for 40 years, no chariot wheels in the Red Sea. Nothing.
Berny, you hit the nail on the head it is the theory of evolution, there is no proof, there never will be, on the flip side the Bible says you have to act on faith, so outside of divine intervention this is all you are ever going to get until that day arrives, in the mean time it is up to each person to research what is required of us and act on it, you can get hung up on disproving something that you miss what is right in front of you. And on another note recently they did find chariot wheels in the red sea.
Rob
Care to tell us where we can find coroboration of this remarkable find? Until I see evidence from a neutral source (not a religious site), I’ll have to call bullsh*t.
LOL! The Neanderthal calls hoax. Oh Berny you kill me. Kettle black much?
if thur is no proof that a global flood happened then . . .why do we see quick frozen animals in the north and why do we find sea shells all over the world even on the mountains and even for example i used to break rocks appart and i would find shells and dry land far from any water source ..only the global flood could of caused that . . .and every native tribe speaks of a global flood and thur was survivors…food for thinking eh ? . . .
The fact is that all the Abrahamic faiths tell a story of Noah and his ark. But before the time of Abraham they all lived in Sumeria. This was before the bible tells the story of how they left for the promised land.
Those people, the Sumerian’s were a tecnological marvel of the ancient world, the hanging gardens were legendary. They had writing, and traded with the people of the surrounding area. Their writing on stone tablets from 7000 B.C. tell the story of Gilgamesh and the Ark. This is the origin story written in stone. The bible had not been written, the people had not left for the promised land. The people of Abraham, took their belongings, and this story and told it verbally for generations before the bible was written, Gilgamesh became Noah, many gods changed to one god.
@ Bob Villa: Using the text of the Bible; Abraham’s Grandfather and His Father would have been alive at the time of Noah. Word of mouth would have 1 generation away. Abraham’s Father would have been a first hand account. Two years after the death of Noah Abraham was born. Shem – Noah’s Son could have given Abraham a first hand account.
Only if you believe the nonsense of people living to 800-900 years of age. Methinks a long dead writer was either fantasizing or was mistranslated.
Besides, there is no evidence either Abraham or Noah were anything more than characters in a story.
wow bob villa…a bit over your head i think…read the bible, and you’l see there’s only one god!, always has been…no others god..lol
Okay..Bob…while I like that you support the Sumerian cause you have to properly report them – The Hanging Gardens (one of the 7 wonders) was built around 600BC…ooo..right around the time that the Israelite were dragged into their captivity AND where they learned about Gilgamesh..and then brought it back to Israel when Cyrus the Persian released them AND when the Priestly caste decided to write down all their folklore to secure themselves in power over the lands Cyrus restored to them.
Point 2 – Sumerian as a language is attributed as having been developed in the 4th Century BCE…that means Sumerian Writing developed concurrently or a bit later…not from 7000 BC…however the flood of the Black Sea occurred back around then….
Bob, I really appreciate your view with Gilgamesh. Indeed the story of Gilgamesh is a valid story. However, the Sumerian historical documentation does not have the solid data to provide us the dates of that historical data of the Bible does.
Eric, interesting comment. Historically speaking the Christians through the Middle ages were the most intelligent and well educated people in the world. The erroneous concept that accepting religion retards intelligence is actually only started in the last 2 centuries.
Tim, typically all scientists are allowed to, and typically do, attend archeological digs. Most of the time religious scholars attend because the topic is of more interest to that group.
Alan, I found your comment “I refuse to label myself, agnostic, Christian, religious atheist. I prefer to accept that God is too big for man to understand with his mind” interesting because God spent most of the Bible taking plenty of time explaining to us who He is and what He expects from us. I appreciate your stance and indeed there are aspects of God that transcend our understanding, but in general, He is very clear that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one is allowed into heaven, unless they accept Jesus as Lord, Savior, God and man.
Christina, as for the finding of the ark being a precursor to the end times, I find no Biblical basis for it.
All, thanks for the interesting comments. I suppose that time will only tell if this discovery is the true account of Noah and the ark he built, or not.
This Discovery of the ARK comes as no surprise to me as I feel GOD is giving many People ‘signs’ in these last days. the “Birth Pangs” are increasing and coming at shorter intervals…. Christ said; “But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is at hand”.
It is very interesting to read some of these comments from readers who rush to judgment. The passion with which both sides of the issue express either acceptance or denial indicates and irrational, merely emotional response. It could turn out that one contributor above might have to produce a mother goose.
lets hope, that theres a scientific evidence, to prove the biblikal story. koran claims the simmilar story of noah and flod.
The great debate between religion and Science has been argued far to long.
It really is hard to believe that people can still argue on the side of religion.
To start, we look at Galileo’s research in astronomy. He was chastised and criticized by the church, because he discovered that the universe does not revolve around the earth. Then we move into a different Direction, how about the Dark ages shall we? Enter the plague, Christians thought that the bubonic plague was a blight from from god. What do they do? Burn Jewish, Gays, and anyone else that didn’t agree with them. That doesn’t seem very Jesus-like. Christianity and other religions have been the cause of more blood shed and wars then any other cause. That also doesn’t include the scientific decay that it brought either. it wasn’t until the Crusades, which again was started by the church to reclaim the holy land. The only good thing about the Crusades, the science and mathematics that the Arabic countries had developed. that’s just to list a few reasons as to why the bible is hard to take for anything then a bunch of stories with real locations.
It must be hard to commit yourself to something that has more blood on its hands then the third Reich.
FAITH;
Heb 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
There are plenty of Scientist who believe the Bible, in fact REAL science, and real study of history, has proof of God, and proof that the Bible is true, written all over it. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people insist upon this idea that Science and Faith are two different, conflicting things. It takes WAY more faith to believe in Evolution than in the Biblical account of history, as there is all kinds of proof of the Creations account all over the world, (in science and history), and absolutely NO proof for Evolution. Go to the library and start reading people…
Not the science I am familiar with. It disproves a most of the Bible.
It takes no faith to understand evolution, to see the mountains of evidence in its favour, and to accept it as fact.
The Bible, on the other hand, has no evidence for its claims, and takes a complete suspension of disbelief and a total lack of critical thinking to take seriously.
Sorry, I can’t do it.
berny…scientist found facts that david, and goliath lived…but i guess that not true either…evolution are you serious!!!…who designs all these awesome things on the earth buddy…think about it…wow!
The remains of giants have never been found. Try again. Evidence that David lived is questionable at best. As for evolution, you can lead a creationist to evidence but you can’t make him see it, or understand it.
Your loss.
… Would you be mad if you built a house, but someone gave somebody else the credit?…now you know how god feels..
Scientist even say there must be a wonderful creator!…your loss..where do you find your info, look it up..david lived.
Hey Berny,
I don’t know if you will actually see this or not, but I was just wondering if you might provide me with some of the Bible-disproving science.
I am currently a Biblical-creationist, but I would love to see another point of view on a scientific level.
Unfortunately most people I have spoken with are not educated on the subject to either bias.
And let me state that I’m not asking for a debate.
Unless you want one for educational purposes.
My email adress is Schwntner.ryan@yahoo.com if you waould rather do so privately.
This is open to anyone by the way, not just Mr. Berny.
And by debate I mean academic-level debate. Not a bunch of clever (or not) insults thrown back and forth.
Its kind of interesting that if this is the Ark that if would be found now. The earth is warming up, supposed climate change… but if you do some research around the time this wood from supposed Ark has been found it has been carbon dated to about 4800 years ago. Around this same time the earth went from a warm climate to a cooler climate, this is not bunk do a little searching on what scientists in climatology have found. They call it the Atlantic Period. Looking at the Mayan Calendar a 5200 year or around there cycle calendar is about to come full circle. If this is the Ark and all this climate research has been done before this finding, perhaps we are coming out of a colder climate and re-entering a warmer climate before this flood took place?
OH so NOW they trust carbon dating…
Anyway, what a bunch of retards, it’s the 21st century damn it, enough with the voodoo and bronze age mythos.
I gotta agree with you dude here.
Carbon dating is bunk 24/7.
Im really sad that they are relying on such horrible dating methods.
The only facts I see in evidence here are as follows: a group calling itself Noah’s Ark Ministries found some wood parts on Mt. Ararat and they’re calling it Noah’s Ark. It would be more credible if they said, “We’ve found wooden parts on Mt. Ararat and we don’t know what they are.” Then later on, after careful analysis, they can say “The wooden parts appear to come from some sort of wooden structure resembling a large ship. But we don’t know how it got up there.” Then they might point out that there’s a bible story involving a flood and an ark and Mt. Ararat. But they don’t do that, they say, “There’s wood on Mt. Ararat! It must be Noah’s Ark!”
Some scientists already proved some pieces are 4800 years old. You may not believe them since they are not western scientist. Secondly do you guys think only Bible has the Noah’s story. Please read from other non western sources and holy books.
What did all the creatures on Noah’s Ark eat for food? did Noah and his family have to hire extra hands to help tend to the needs of the animals? What did they do with all the poop and how bad would that ship smell? These are the real issues here, folks! Oh, and why are people still trying to justify their anachronistic irrational belief in a 2000-year-old, poorly-plagiarized forgery of fairy tales and fantasy? Religion makes people so boring.
As to your questions:
During times of inclement weather many animals hibernate. (No eating, very little needs)
Ok, if you had a bunch of animal dung just chilling in your house what exactly would you do with it. (answer: remove it. there was no environmental protection agency then so they could just toss it overboard)
Any more?
It’s truly stunning that there are still people in the developed world that swallow this infantile garbage.
These people need to grow up! They have no idea of the terrible damage they are doing to humanity.
terrible damage, Ian?? Elaborate. How is Christianity, love and faith “damaging”?
It’s really sad that everyone is so willing to blow off or use science to disclaim the existence of God or anything Godly. It seems that the more advanced we become, the more intelligent we become, the less willing we are to believe that there could be something other than us in our own little world that we made! Why is it so hard to believe that there is a God or that the stories in the Bible are true? Is the Bible any less believable than a history book? As for me I believe!!!! God is real, the Bible is real, and Heaven is real!
“As for me I believe!!!! God is real, the Bible is real, and Heaven is real!”
Er…WTF?
So tell us how you know that ‘God’ and ‘Heavan’ are real. Presumably you meant ‘the Bible is true’. Also an astonishingly stupid belief.
BTW, which Bible ‘is real’?
It is sad that most comments here show how disturbed and intolerantly angry people get when something is found and has a link to the Bible. Ignorance is a bliss. “Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!”
“It is sad that most comments here show how disturbed and intolerantly angry people get when something is found and has a link to the Bible”
No, what is sad, is how many gullible chumps there are that find this nonsense plausible, when in fact they know absolutely nothing, nothing about the history of the Bible, how it evolved, anything about science ad nauseum. And then they come on here and try to tell me how stupid I am?
Why is there hay visible in some of the released pictures of their find? Is that an attempt to make it look more authentic?
No, I am not trying to say it’s a pure out and out fake…just found it slightly odd.
My gosh I dont know what to say except – Father forgive them for they know not what they do – or for this matter – Say. I will pray for you non believers
and hope you see the light before its to late.Thats what is really wrong with the world today. God is not in peoples lives and thats a very sad thing
“I will pray for you non believers”
Well, you pray for me and I’ll think for you.
“and hope you see the light before its to late.Thats what is really wrong with the world today. God is not in peoples lives and thats a very sad thing”
oh grow up you imbecile
Umm…Mr Villa…You sir are ill informed. Every major ancient civilization has their own account of the flood. Read a book you freakin heathen. Is it really that hard to fathom in you tiny brain pan that others may have been prepared for the delluge as well? There is even an Aboriginal account of the great Flood from the same time frame. I might suggest a book for you, if indeed you posses the facilities to open read. It is Titled Uriel’s Machine. Very enlightening. It sounds like you could use it.
its amazing….praise our Lord
The majority of Turkey (where the ark is located) is Muslim. This is why scientists are not allowed to this site. It is heavily protected by the government. Could you imagine what would happen in a Muslim country if the god they believe in were to be disproved? Not to mention the effect it could have world-wide? Fear is the reason that we are not allowed access to this Holy artifact.
Seems like the libs will soon be banning any evidence of anything tht doesn’t conform to global warming.
Libs usually take their college profs as G-ds and believe everything they say.
They so stupid.
The story of Gilgamesh may have been written before the biblical account of noah and the flood, but that doesn’t mean that it is not based on the actual event itself. The book of Genesis was written long after the events recorded in it had transpired.
“and hope you see the light before its to late.Thats what is really wrong with the world today. God is not in peoples lives and thats a very sad thing”
Oh for pity’s sake, why don’t you dimwits go and actually learn something about the history of the Bible.
Here: Look up “Bart Ehrman Misquoting Jesus”. Prof. Ehrman is a real historian and Biblical Scholar. He actually knows some things. Sheesh!
For those who are interested in differentiating myth from history, renowned intellectual Rene Girard has an article called “Are the Gospels Mythical”, at the website for First Things…let’s learn to think clearly before we throw out history, claiming that it is myth. The study of myth gives clear guidelines that prevent dismissing a historic account, such as Noah and the ark or the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, just because it resembles an actual existing myth.
GLOBAL COOLING?
That this artifact has been permanently buried in ice and snow shows that todays temparatures are in fact much cooler than in the past.
If National Geographic finds a single human hair (or tooth) and manages to construct an imaginary missing link (complete with drawings and pictures of the family around a fire, eating some prehistoric mammoth meat)and that these ‘evidences’ somehow prove beyond a shadow of doubt that man has an evolutionary past…to the athiest, this is science. Seriously…mountains of evidence ? Where ?
“If National Geographic finds a single human hair (or tooth) and manages to construct an imaginary missing link (complete with drawings and pictures of the family around a fire, eating some prehistoric mammoth meat)and that these ‘evidences’ somehow prove beyond a shadow of doubt that man has an evolutionary past…to the athiest, this is science”
Er… no that is not science, that is National Geographic making fools of themselves. Only idiots think that this is what ‘atheists’ call science. Science is done in scientific journals. Try going to PubMed and looking up articles with the word “evolution” or “evolved”. You really should learn a few things before spouting your mouth off.
The Link below discusses the scientific / geologic evidence for a Worldwide Flood. Just paste it into your browser and press Enter, or do a Search on “Scientific Evidence for a Worldwide Flood” and it should be one of the first papers to come up.

A much more detailed paper is also on the same site:
The Fossil Forests of Nova Scotia
and accessable from the first document under the section called polystrate fossils.
Hope this helps!

Like someone said time will tell if they have found it…what’s amazing is how some people belive the universe appeared out of no where.how life begun and what life is…if you look around you you will see many things created by God.why do people need more proof about God creating the world.DNA for example was discovered to be a code which had to be made by a super natural being …science will only prove it’s self wrong or only prove the bible right in the end.Can any evolutionist tell me how life started and where the material came from? if you can’t then u have nothing without the beginning …
“terrible damage, Ian?? Elaborate. How is Christianity, love and faith “damaging”?”
You honestly think that is what Christianity is?
How much love are Christians showing when they drop bombs on innocent men, women and children in the middle east?
How much love do Christians show when they are discriminating against gay marriage and other gay rights?
How much love do Christians have when they are blocking medical research that has potential to ease or cure the suffering of millions.
How much love do Christians have when they are trying to convince people in sub-Saharan Africa that condoms spread AIDS?
How much love are Christians showing when they are sending donations to the right-wing government of Israel in the hopes of bringing on armageddon?
How much love were Christians showing when they tortured and burned innocent women women as witches and philosophers as heretics for 5 solid centuries?
Think again. Doh, silly me, you don’t think. You’re a Christian.
ian your comments are more like blanket statements…you immagine all christians do those things…that’s where you are flat out wrong…many have used xtianity to advance their agendas….being gay is just un natural because clearly a man and a man can not reproduce, same with a woman and a woman…gay pple are selfish because they get these poor kids to adopt or raise for them selves deceiving them selves that they are a family.do you know how torturing it is for a child to realize what’s going on as kids tease him at school…why isn’t the child given a choice by gay pple…they just dont…so stop judging…anything else u said here has no proof but just your own hate speech.but it will all be worked out whether u like it or not…the clay pot can not argue with it’s maker clearly
“ian your comments are more like blanket statements…”
Er…no, they are rhetorical questions.
“you immagine all christians do those things”
Er…no, but it certainly shows the statement ‘Christianity is Love’ to be utter bu11sh1t.
“being gay is just un natural because clearly a man and a man can not reproduce”
LOL, I didn’t think it would be long before the Christian bigotry came oozing out. So infertile couples should not be together? Perhaps you shouldn’t wear clothes? They are not natural.
“do you know how torturing it is for a child to realize what’s going on as kids tease him at school…why isn’t the child given a choice by gay pple”
What do you mean given a choice? given a choice about what? And don’t you think the ‘teasing’ at school is an issue of bullying that needs to be stopped, just like the ‘teasing’ of kids with glasses, wheelchairs or because they have dark skin?
“so stop judging”
After your comments about gay people? that’s a little rich.
“anything else u said here has no proof ”
For instance?
“the clay pot can not argue with it’s maker clearly”
You might be a analogous to a clay pot, I have a brain.
sounds to me like a certain religion is taking a beating recently and they are trying to gain back some faith…. starts to make me think there really is a secret society of world leaders… isnt this type of thing usually a political scheme?
Kat you said “I will pray for you non believers”
Well you pray for me, and I’ll think for you.
I see lots of criticism from the “I HOPE God isn’t real or I’m going to Hell” crowd. Hopefully I will see you on Sunday morning to hear the rest of the story.
)
“I see lots of criticism from the “I HOPE God isn’t real or I’m going to Hell” crowd”
Who would they be?
Do you honestly think I’m worried about the idiotic claims of Bronze/Iron Age ignorance and mythology?
I think its funny how these same people who disagree with the findings of the ark also align themselves with evolutionists like stephen hawkins who said life on earth formed from crystals. If they want to say the bible is a fairy tale so be it. I think saying life forming from a crystal is a bad acid trip.
I love how people try to rationalize what is “possible” All things are possible through God. He is the creator.
The biggest enemy is lack of faith. People are so deep in the misery of this world that they have started to think that God is folklore. So sad that so many lack faith. Things are done with a purpose and as such life was ‘created’ for a purpose. For those that cannot see this is because the Opposer has blinded you which the bible explains.
Whether or not this IS Noah’s ark or not doesn’t change anything though because those without faith can’t see and will always be blinded.
Folks I hate to break it to you but this has all the trappings of an elaborate hoax. The interior shot showing the wooden shelf has fresh hay strewn about. In the video when they are examining the floor you can clearly see fake styrofoam “snow” pellets on the floor. Stupid Chinese.
What I find to be most interesting is that they used carbon dating.
These are the same people that will tell you that the earth was created around 5000 BC and that carbon dating is inaccurate when used to date older fossils such as dinosaur bones. But when it supports their claim they are all too willing to accept its validity.
I always felt that as time draws to a close as we know it. God,would begin to unveil signs to the skeptics!don’t be surprised when the show pictures of the ark of the covenant next!!!!!
Oh, this is all nonsense. About every decade or so some missionary group claims to have found wood remains on one or another Turkish Mountain. They’ve been pulling this crap since the 1920s. Because, every time the claim to have found some stone or piece of rock that “proves” some fairy tale true, a million more idiots flock to the churches, you know, just in case god turns out to be real. Maybe 1000 years from now, someone will claim to have found the grave of Holden Caufield, and all the idiots can spend 2000 years mindlessly following his literary example.
This is probably a hoax. Also, the carbon dating is off by over 2000 years. Bear in mind, God destroyed the world with a flood in Noah’s 600th year (4990 BC) which is almost 7000 years ago. Why is the number 7000 important? Well, the Bible teaches that one day is as 1000 years–meaning God gave Noah 7 days to enter the ark to illustrate that He will destroy this world 7000 years after Noah’s flood (i.e., 2011 AD). Lastly, Noah’s flood was on the 17th day of the 2nd month. Therefore, we know that judgment day will begin on May 21, 2011 AD. So, while it would be interesting to find the ark–the Bible is where we should be focused. For questions visit the LatterRain group on Yahoo Groups web site.
coming up with dates of the end of the world makes you a false prophet…many have tried before you and so you shall fail…even jesus said he didn’t know, only the father knows…are you more knowlegable than him,i doubt it …many things have to happen for the end to come, the third temple has to be rebuild and the events of revelation have to start happening …2011 isn’t the end nor is 2012 …you will be put to shame just like those before you…and just because noah was in his 600th year doesn’t mean you can assume his 1st year is the beginning…very weak argument, holding no water u false prophet
Core,
The Bible does not teach anything about a literal temple being built in Jerusalem. The only temple being built today is the body of Christ. The Jews also fell into the trap that Christ was speaking about a physical temple when He was referring to His body (the believers). Remember the Bible says “ye are the temple of God”.
As for knowing dates, the Bible clearly states that the tribulation will focus on two time-lines that are associated with the abomination of desolation. The first time-line is found in Daniel 8:13-14 where God speaks about 2300 days. The second time-line is found in Daniel 12 where we read about 1290 days. In Matthew 24:15 Jesus commands us to read the book of Daniel to understand events that will transpire during the great tribulation. But when we go to Daniel 12, we discover that this information was sealed until the “time of the end”. So, while many “false prophets” have predicted dates they failed because it was not time for God to reveal this information. This is why they never understood the significance of the 2300 days or the 1290 days.
Da 12:4* But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
So, don’t waist time name calling. Study the Bible and pray that God will open your eyes to truth. If you have questions, visit the LatterRain group on Yahoo Groups or visit Family Radio dot come to hear/read many studies on this topic. We only have about 13 months left!
Oh goodness….do you know how many times people have tried to guess judgment day and failed…Thanks Darrell you made me chuckle..I hope your other brother Darrell is doing fine these days
Bernooch,
This has nothing to do with guess work. The Bible is clear that there will be scoffers in the last days. According to 2 Peter 3, these scoffers deny the world was destroyed by Noah’s flood. As a result, they will also scoff about judgment day. Most scoff because they are “willingly ignorant” (I Peter 3).
3* ¶ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4* And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5* For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7* But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8* But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Don’t allow yourself to become a scoffer or remain ignorant. If you have questions visit the LatterRain group on yahoo or visit Family Radio to hear/receive free material on this subject.
Amazing how many people are commenting, and how many different views. Bottom line, it doesn’t really matter if this is the “real” ark or not if you really know in your heart that there is a God, and you really understand why you are here on the earth. People have been seeking signs for over 2000 years! But it takes more. It takes faith. Faith to believe in something you can’t feel or see, but that you know still exists. That and a humble willingness to listen to the spirit of the holy ghost speaking the truth to you. (yeah I know… you probably don’t know what that is either) So you non believers… if you can’t see the air that you breathe, does that mean you’re not breathing anything?
This may turn out NOT to be the original ark. But it will not change my views or understanding of who God is and why we are all on this plant. I know already and I am secure in my belief.
… Oh, and I DO believe these are the last days, and those so called “signs” of the times are truly coming to pass. Reap what you sow.
Fret not brothers and sisters. This is why so many Atheist argue against something they don’t even believe exist.
Taken from an excerpt on another site:
I was an atheist at one time. And like many atheists, the issue of people believing in God bothered me greatly. What is it about atheists that we would spend so much time, attention, and energy refuting something that we don’t believe even exists?! What causes us to do that? When I was an atheist, I attributed my intentions as caring for those poor, delusional people…to help them realize their hope was completely ill-founded. To be honest, I also had another motive. As I challenged those who believed in God, I was deeply curious to see if they could convince me otherwise. Part of my quest was to become free from the question of God. If I could conclusively prove to believers that they were wrong, then the issue is off the table, and I would be free to go about my life.
proof of God I didn’t realize that the reason the topic of God weighed so heavily on my mind, was because God was pressing the issue.
This is a very serious issue for us all and a vital subject for two reasons, the truth of the Bible and the trustworthiness of Jesus Christ.
Hear what Jesus said, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
Either the global flood record in the Bible is 100% true or Jesus Christ is a false prophet.
Think: There ARE seashells atop Everest – how did they get there? Study the scientific evidence of rapid fossilisation (2 weeks). Look at the results of observed catastrophes such as Mount St Helens.
Such is the hardness of men’s hearts they wouldn’t believe even if one was raised from the dead.
Repent, and believe the gospel.
umm..which Gospel? The four stories written 40 to 60 years after Yeshua lived..and polluted by the writings of Paul? Or the Fifth Gospel that most churches put together for their people to listen to while at service?
There is so much we don’t know. Science tells us how but fails to tell us why. Scientific theory is created by mankind- after all, reality is what it is regardless of explanation. Like Grace Slick sings, “…doesn’t mean sh*t to a tree.”
Faith is tied to the Moral Law and Signposts to God buried within every human being. Only when faith is embraced and cherished does one experience the true sense of God’s presence in life. The positive, enlightening changes that take place in your attitude, outlook and personality cannot be scientifically explained- nor ignored. You become a changed person for the better of everyone in your sphere of influence, and yourself. Especially for your family and children. And faith feeds upon itself, growing to even greater heights over time. The world becomes a better place by each person embracing Christ’s teachings. Christians have done far more good in this world than harm, without doubt. Inner faith equals hope, beyond any scientific discovery or technical promise. Why do you think true followers of Christ walk around so happy?
Does evolution exist? Sure, look around- but why is it here? Did the Big Bang occur? Very likely, look at the cosmic scientific evidence- but why did it occur? So… what is the meaning of life, anyway? And, how can a biologically highly evolved creature come to contemplate its own existence within a framework of natural selection? There is so much we don’t know and understand…
But, for the non-believers who demand scientific proof before accepting something they cannot grok otherwise, here are some great reads that may open your minds a bit more. Most were written by scientists who were atheists prior to discovering signs of God within their respective fields of science. Certainly, some will rebuke no matter what is presented; for you, I can only say I sympathize. Every man must come to God of their own accord- and thus, find peace in their own life. Good luck and God bless you! Hope you find Christ before he returns- or the pending Big Crunch occurs!

These comments have been very interesting. To be reasured that the Scriptures are accurate, the apostal Paul in his second letter to his dear friend Timothy (2timothy3:16)reminded Timothy that “all Scripture is inspired of God” meaning the holy spirit or God’s Active force inspired the men who wrote the scriptures. The Bible as we know it being God’s thoughts. Something to think about. The Holy Spirit, likley the most powerful force in the Universe. What if the Bible is dead-on accurate? Wouldn’t that simplify life?
or MAYBE the writer of the letters needed to use the power of God to establish his superiority in the community he was working on creating….
Beyond questions of religion: this c. 5,000 year old boat is said to have nails. NAILS?????
’nuff said, for those with any shred of rationality….
Too many responses to try and answer them all. The true “bottom line”, if you will, is if you honestly want to know the truth, you only need ask God.
Many of you are correct about religion and many groups make their own interpretations of the scriptures. There is no need for any arguments or validation in any tangible form.
God has promised and is faithful to His promises…if you desire in your heart to know the “truth” about God, which would substantiate everything else that follows, creation, Noah etc. just simply be still, and ask Him to reveal Himself to you.
Once He has done that, you will see and Know that He is God and it will truly change you life. Don’t listen to this group or that group or science…it is truly elementary and as simple as asking the One who created us all.
Please understand, God knows our hearts, so to make some sarcastic, or halfhearted appeal, is a waste of your time.
Know God, Know Peace…..no God, no peace…
Just ask Him….quite arguing and seek the truth from the One who is Truth…
Well stated, “AskHim”. The only way to find truth is to ask God to reveal it to you, which means (in the process) your heart will be changed forever. That’s the only thing that really counts anyway. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Stephen Hawking, Barack Obama, Pope Benedict XVI, Vladimer Putin, and every other human being will stink with rotting flesh eventually anyway. There’s no escaping the inevitable outcome to human life on this planet: death. Physical death. But, long live the (non-physical) soul with Christ!
One last comment: non-believers tend to cling so desperately to their passions to SAVE THE EARTH. Be green! Respect thy (earth) mother! One planet, one people! etc. This narrow reality is all they have, their only hope. If the planet gets trashed they have nothing else. But we, as followers of Christ, know assuredly that this is all temporary- we can no more save the earth than we can create the smallest of miracles. Sure, basic clean housekeeping is in order, so let’s not pollute when we have other options. But, to think we can save this earth is really quite pretentious and rather arrogant.
What a sad life it must be to think that this is all there is, what with so much evil in the world; so much distrust between peoples; so much violence and self-inflicted suffering, and no way out but eventual death. What a dark, cynical path! To know this is all temporary anyway, and spiritual life forever is the real deal- well, things are looking up! heh… Everybody has the choice within their heart- God allowed us that choice. I choose Life & Hope!
