Teens Pouring Vodka Into Eyes

Sniffing glue, popping pills, now teens are pouring vodka into their eyes in an attempt to get drunk more quickly. The new trend is labeled, ‘eyeballing.’ Originating in Britain it is quickly spreading across the United States. The popularity has even earned it a page on Facebook.

While some teens say it helps them to get drunk more quickly others say it hides the smell of Vodka on their breath – from parents, teachers, and other adults. One ophthalomologist has said the new fad can cause blindness. Dr. Marc Bosem says it is a very bad idea – this eyeballing. He states, “If you were to pour alcohol on your eye, it would first hit this outer layer, and all those cells wouldn’t be able to function. If it hit your optic nerve, you would go blind.”

Vodka eyeballing involves pouring the Vodka straight into your eyeball. The ‘drinker’ then prepares to become drunk. There are now videos on a certain internet site that shows how the procedure is done. One man doing this said, “My eye burns to hell.” Other eyeballers claim it is beautiful when the Vodka is poured into the eyeball. It supposedly is poured into the eyeball and it floods from the eyes. Fortunately, some of the youngsters are saying, “It’s just seriously damaging and disturbing.” One young man asked, “Pouring alcohol into your eyes knowingly…are you crazy?”

It is known that pouring Vodka, or any other type of alcohol into your eye, can cause blindness or permanent vision damage. It is a dangerous thing to do.

This is another sad commentary of teens and tweens looking for something to do with their enormous amount of ‘free’ time.
Time that used to be taken up doing chores involving the survival of the family unit.
Time that used to be managed by adults of the family and neighboring adults.

It may be a reach but, with the inundation of “DO YOUR OWN THING” by Madison avenues’and others advertising, the adults can’t be bothered with children. With two jobs or double incomes so they can buy the things told that they need for the good life. So they pack them off to school as fast as posible to be babysat by the school Districts or stuck in front of the TV to occupy them with commercials, saying what they must have, interspersed by cartoons.

Chores that were expected to be done became a drudgery that had to be paid for at higher and higher allowances so life could be enjoyed. Then Teens somehow got rights? Parents no longer were held responsible for their childrens actions.

So teens and now tweens didn’t know what to do with these freedoms and money but, what else than find kicks and defy adults telling them what they can’t do?

    This is ONLY my opinion!
