The Guinness Book of World Records has declared the sale of sex.com to be the all-time record holder as the most expensive web domain name.

The web address sold for $13 million in November, bought by Clover Holdings.

The domain name sold for $11.5 million in 2006, when it was picked up by Escom LLC.

Sex.com became available again after Escom LLC filed for bankruptcy in 2010, putting the domain up for auction.

Clover Holdings has yet to make use of the site. Currently the site hosts links to personal ads, escort services, porn related galleries, live sex cams, and other sex and porn related material.
