For the First Time Ever, the World’s Shortest Man Meets the Shortest Woman!
A world record was broken today. The world’s shortest man, Chandra Bahadur Dangi, and world’s shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, met for the first time, UPI reports.
This is the first time that two record holders for the shortest humans have ever met.
They got together to participate in a Guinness World Book of Records photo shoot.
The two of them dressed in the traditional dress of their countries and joked and laughed while taking pictures to promote the release of latest edition of “Guinness World Records 2013″.
“It was an extraordinary moment; they’re both such incredible individuals. Everyone knew this was a special moment, and the atmosphere was magical,” Guinness World Records adjudicator Marco Frigatti said in a statement.
Chandra Bahadur Dangi is 21.5 inches tall and is from Nepal. He is 72 years old. Joyti Amge is 24.7 inches tall and is 18. She is from India. Despite being from different countries and different generations, they got along well and had a great time together.
“It’s a big thing for my family, my village and my country,” Dangi said in a press release. “I am very happy.”
The latest edition of the world’s best-selling copyright book was first published in 1955 and has sold over 120 million copies to date in over 100 countries..
“Guinness World Records 2013” will be released on Sept. 13.
