Shark Saves Man After 15 Weeks Out At Sea

A 41 year old man is thankful to be high and dry after he claims a shark saved his life by gently bumping into his boat in the Pacific Ocean, according to the Daily Mail.

The shark, by bumping into the boat, woke Toakai Teitoi up which allowed him to flag down a nearby rescue boat that ended his 15 weeks of being stranded at sea.

“Just as I was giving up all hope of being rescued after one boat had passed me by in the distance something very strange happened,” Mr Teitoi said after being rescued.

“I was cowering from the sun under a piece of cloth I had stretched across the front of the boat when I felt a big bump, followed by some scratching.

Teitoi had just been sworn in as a police officer.

He and his brother-in-law, the late Ielu Falaile, were going home via the boat after they had flown from Maiana to the Kiribati capital of Tarawa.

The boat trip was only supposed to take a couple of hours. However, the men fell asleep and the boat steered off course which stranded them. While they had plenty of fish to eat, they had no drinking water. Mr. Falaile passed away about five weeks into the ordeal due to dehydration.

Teitoi was struggling to make it. But he kept praying every day for a rescue. His prayers were answered even before the shark; just after his brother-in-law died, there were tremendous rainstorms for days.

So Teitoi was able to save gallons of drinking water while he ate on raw fish and tried to stay out of the sun. Teitoi says he is never going boating again.

Mr Teitoi said: ‘I’m flying home. I’ll never go by boat again.’

  1. Sounds like he went through sheer hell. Damn.

  2. Lord bless that shark and may he meet his end by natural causes and not ever face the horror of fining!

eating shark fins is evil/ disgusting?? Sharks are over sized fish. I guess your eating some disgusting/evil **** in your tuna sandwich or fish sticks LOL since you seem cherish fish, a large percentage of the world thinks you eating beef or pork is beyond disgusting/evil redneck

    • you are an idiot finning means that you kill the whole shark just for the fins which have no nutritional value. The shark is then thrown into the water without its fins and dies by drowning.

  4. It’s possible they drank their own urine to keep hydrated, the only shark that bumps is the Bull Shark. Interested story, I don’t blame the guy for never boating again.

  5. what are you talking about lolatignorannce? turbo is right your an idiot
