Homeless Billionaire Worth Over $5-Billion

Billionaire Chooses Simple Life

A billionaire you have probably never heard of, Nicolas Berggruen, does not even own his own home or car, but instead chooses to live out of hotels, reports Inquisitr.

He conveys he prefers to keep things simple although his net worth is estimated to be $5 Billion.

He did own two homes, one in downtown New York City and one on a private island outside of Miami. He has sold his homes and keeps his belongings in storage. While traveling, he only takes his iPhone and several items of clothing.

Of course, he only stays in 5-Star hotels, but keeps himself pretty low-profile and doesn’t feel the need to have his own home to end up at.

His current lifestyle is a result of his realization that acquiring things wasn’t making him happy. Additionally, he has shared that everything he owns is temporary and not needed.

“Everybody is different and I think that we live in a material world. But for me, possessing things is not that interesting. Living in a grand environment to show myself and others that I have wealth has zero appeal. Whatever I own is temporary, since we’re only here for a short period of time. It’s what we do and produce, it’s our actions, that will last forever. That’s real value.”

When he passes, he wants to dedicate his money to the US and UK financial crises as well as to charities.

  1. That’s life. Some people have two homes and don’t want it but some can’t afford to have one. Some people can’t afford to live a simple life.
