Bigfoot enthusiasts are no stranger to the name Rick Dyer. The self styled Bigfoot afficionado gained fame once before in 2008 for claiming a gorilla suit he’d purchased and stuffed was the slain mystical monster. This time, though, Dyer insists his Bigfoot claims are true.

Rick Dyer allegedly was able to fatally shoot the shaggy 800lb beast after luring it from hiding with a package of Wal-mart Ribs. Is it the real deal or another mega hoax? Mr. Dyer claims to have extensive DNA evidence along with body scans that prove his claim, though he has not produced any of this paperwork and the scientific community at large remains mum on the discovery.

Rick Dyer seems to want people to decide for themselves whether his outrageous claim is true. He is currently embarked on a tour with the monstrous body encased in a glass coffin, and welcomes one and all to take a first hand look at his trophy.

Many people are taking the bait, paying as much as 20 a head to catch a glimpse of what may be the trophy bag of a lifetime, with some shows managing to sell out before they begin.

‘I’m not convinced,’ said Mario Lopez, after taking a look with his wife Julia and their three children. ‘I believe the Roger Patterson footage is authentic because you can see the muscles and everything on there, but this one was kind of different. But he did mention that after the autopsy the body kind of changes,’ he said to the Houston Chronicle.

Wendy Hernandez was so convinced that she bought a shirt and had Dyer sign it, reports The Mail. ‘It’s amazing when you go inside, you feel different,’ she said. ‘I had never seen anything like this before, only on the Discovery Channel.’

It is unclear whether the people paying to see the possible Bigfoot are fans of the creature, or simply fans of the extraordinary.

Interested in seeing the bigfoot? Hank will be on display Monday at the Mason Park Alamo Drafthouse and Tuesday at the Vintage Park location. Both shows are sold out.
