Curved iPhones in The Pipeline For Future Releases?
Next Generation iPhone May Be Curved
Brand new details from Apple reveal that they are working on two new models of iPhone. Both will have curved screens. The new, cutting edge, glass screens will be sensitive to different levels of pressure, which will be a unique innovation. Bloomberg obtained the information from an unnamed source apparently familiar with the design plans. The plans are not yet public and the source declined to be named for that reason.
One of the new models will have a larger glass screen than the current iPhone 5s, which is 4.9 inches. The other new model is smaller at 4.7 inches, while the larger one is 5.5 inches. The screens will be sloped at the edges and will have new sensors that will be able to distinguish light touches from heavy touches.
Samsung is ahead of Apple in the curved screen market and released the Galaxy Round last month. They are also ahead producing phones of massive size. The Galaxy Note 3 has a whopping 5.7 inch screen and Apple will be approaching that with one of the new models. The source said that Apple will likely release the official details of the new iPhones in the third quarter of 2014.
