The seat left abruptly vacated by Lou Dobbs will be filled by CNN’s John King.
Dobbs announced his resignation on Wednesday November 11th 2009.
Dobbs spent 30 years with the Cable News Network, and there is rumor that he may be going to Fox Business Network. King will be hosting a new political show beginning in early 2010.
According to CNN President John Kelin, King’s new show will not have a political stance one way or the other, it will have, “the widest range of opinions from across the political spectrum.”
John King says that he is thrilled for the opportunity to host the 7.p.m time slot. Viewers may know King as the host of CNN’s Sunday political show “State of the Union”.
“I don’t think you have to give up your objectivity and give up being a reporter to be part of a very lively, provocative, feisty conversation about the issues of the day, as long as it is built around facts and information,” King said Thursday in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “I think people are hungry for it. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong.”
He is also well known for his “Magic Map” a device that helps viewers understand the election process.
Some speculate that CNN’s placing of King in Dobb’s seat was a way to speak out against partisan journalism. One thing is for sure, John King will be a very different host than Lou Dobbs.

CNN's John King to replace Lou Dobbs

Well, well, well, another white man to continue the political slant against the President.
What happened to these black men Rowan Martin, Joe Johns and others? What about them replacing another rabid anti-Obama white man?
You are showing your real colors CNN. I am baffled why blacks are not voicing their opinion on this matter.
hilroy, you are obviously a bitter racist. Race should not be a factor in slecting a talk show host – or in employment in general.
Was wondering how long it would take Dobbs to overstep his opinions.A little too radical for me to listen to.He burnt out his opinions day after day.King is a good replacement.Hope he continues to be the good reporter hes been in the past.
I may be wrong but I think it is unfair to compare John King with Lou Dobbs – John King sounded reasonable when I heard him during the elections last year with his famous words “game is over” meaning Obama will win – Thank you CNN for getting rid of this snake (Lou Dobbs), he can now go and join fellow poisoneous hatemongers at that den of evil wolves – Another one CNN should get rid of is Heidi
I agree with Anwar, get rid of Heidi too and let’s just put CNN out of business for good.
In my opinion CNN just lost the only moderate left in their news presentations. The whole of the news reporting left in their arsenal is so liberal and pro democrat that it makes me ill. I hope Mr. Dobbs goes to FOX news because I will certainly watch.
@edgar clem If you consider Dobbs moderate you are probably sitting in the Beck,Oreily camp. CNN is prettty fair if you were talking about MSNBC then I would understand. Since you watch FOX you pr0bably only see the issues one way.
Kalend , I agree with Edgar Clem. Its not the way you see the issues but rather the way truth speaks. I assume you probably believe there is still a two party system and that your congressman and senator really care how you feel. If so then you more than likely bought some pet rocks.
