With Christmas only six weeks away, it’s time to get shopping.

With the holiday comes great deals.

Wal-mart also announced that it will keep all of it’s stores open 24 hours during the American thanksgiving weekend in an effort to avoid the holiday rush.

Black Frida is typically the kick-off to the Christmas shopping season.

Federal safety regulators cited Walmart for inadequate crowd control last year after a temporary worker died at a Long Island store, reports YTV.com.  The shopper died after being trampled by a mob of people trying to get into the store.

The worlds largest retailer has announced it will also implement other crowd-control measures for this shopping season.

Yesterday Wal Mart announced that its online store will offer many hot books for just $9 and free shipping.  Titles  offered include John Grisham’s latest, and Sarah Palin’s new biography. In response, Amazon.com and Target have joined the cheap book party.

Toys R U is also getting into the Christmas mood and i s is offering over $6,000 toys for $10 or less, with free shipping on orders of $45 or more.
