Alexandra Kerry, the eldest daughter of former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry was arrested early Thursday for driving under the influence.

Police pulled over Kerry, 36, for driving erratically around 12:40 a.m. She was booked at the Hollywood Division station, then released after posting $5,000 bail around 5:30 a.m.

“It was a misdemeanor traffic stop, but then it morphed into the DUI arrest,” says Officer Bruce Borihanh.

Aaward-winning writer-director, kerry was detained shortly after midnight, Los Angeles Police Department officer Bruce Borihanh said.

She was later released after posting 5,000-dollars bail, he added.

A court date has been set for Dec. 10.
