According to reports,  James Van Der Beek and his actress wife Heather McComb are heading for divorce.

The  “Dawson’s Creek” star filed for divorce on on Friday, November 13.

He cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation.

Friends suspected a divorce was brewing when the couple sold their $2.5 million home in Studio City, California, in March. They put the mansion – which features 180-degree canyon, mountain and city views, and a luxurious mist cooling system – on the market.

The couple married in July 2003 do not have any children.

James, 32, has recently been in several episodes of  “One Tree Hill” and starred in movies such as “Varsity Blues” and “The Rules of Attraction.”

Heather McComb has appeared as a supporting actress in many movies and television shows including “Without A Trace” and “Prison Break.”
