GMA Says No To Adam Lambert

“Good Morning America” aired on U.S. network ABC has canceled the performance of singer Adam Lambert scheduled for Wednesday morning.

During his Sunday performance at the American Music Awards, The “American idol” Runner-up simulated oral sex, had a dancer on a leash, flipped the bird and kissed a male band member. Lambert has since defended his act, while ABC has fielded thousands or angry calls.

A spokesperson for ABC said, “Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”

CBS also announced Tuesday that the singer would pass on the program “The Early Show” Wednesday morning, where he will sing and discuss the reactions to his performance on Sunday.

The cancellation of his visit to “Good Morning America” was first reported on the websites TVNewser and Hollywood Life.

What do you think of Lambert’s performance and the subsequent reaction?

I think poor Adam Lambert is confused about what it takes to make it in the business. Unfortunately he doesn’t realize that he already has the talent and doesn’t need to showboat in that kind of arena. If he’s trying to make a bigger name for himself, he’s going about it the wrong way. I don’t care for him personally so if this hurts his career, oh well.

    I think he’s an idiot…enough said.

He just gets caught up in the moment…unfortunately his “moments” aren’t what mainstream America appreciates. I still love him though!

Although Adam Lambert is an amazing talent, his performance had no place on TV. Maybe in concert. I would not want my children to watch that performance. And I will not be buying any CDs because of the images that won’t go away. And his comment about if a female performer had done the same thing is so very lame.

If he wants to act like that in one of his concerts that’s different. I don’t like it but at least I have a choice of buying a ticket and attending knowing the kind of show I might be exposed to. But there needs to be a sembalance of decency on TV. Especially where there might be a younger audience. What he did is inexcusable. I will never watch anything he is on. Not to mention the harm he has done to the gay cause in this country. He just played right into the gay sterotype that people object to. You have the right to your life as long as you don’t throw it in my face.
