A spokesman for former President Clinton has confirmed to ABC News that Chelsea Clinton is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky.

The two sent out an email the morning of Friday November 27 saying:

“We’re sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged!.

“We didn’t get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc,” said the email, which was sent out on Friday and provided on Monday by Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation.

The couple became engaged before Thanksgiving, according to the Clinton spokesperson Matt McKenna.

Clinton, 29, is the only child of the former president and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Mezvinsky works at Goldman Sachs; his parents are both former members of Congress.
