"The Duggars belive that every child is a gift from God and do not use any contraception."

There's something wrong with that along the lines of a morbidly obese person stating that 'every inch of waistline is a gift from God and that they do not use any dietary restrictions'.

I asked if they would pile on the praise if they were non-christian, I never said that i am a christian, didnt even mean to imply that. My point was that many christians seem intolerant to any actions of non christians, but at same time would sing praise for "one of their own" in other words, would you praise god if a muslim family had 19 kids.

To POVofa13yo. I will be brave and try to answer you questions. I am a Christian and was raised by my Mom who was a Christian and took me and my Brother to church until I was about 10. Then, she started to work with my Dad, (in construction, and my Dad was a cursing, smoking alcoholic). After we stopped going to church and making God our first priority, that is when things became very bad. I was molested by a cousin when I was 10, raped when I was 17, and became very promiscuous in my teens. I wished to this day we would have kept going to church and kept learning the Word of God. I wished I was taught Biblical principles at a young age so I would not have succumbed to temptations. It was not until about the age of 30 that my husband of 26 years and I gave our lives to Christ. We have learned so much in the past 12 years about God, Jesus, the Bible and about how to live a life that is pleasing to God. Christians are NOT perfect. Believe you me. I sin every day. I try my best to ask God to help me to not sin, to put others first, and to ask for forgiveness the very moment I sin. It is not easy. No one is perfect except Jesus himself.

Christians defend the Bible because it is the innerrant, infallible Word of God. It is 100% true from cover to cover. We believe in the priciples it teaches. That is what the Duggars believe and that is why they have such loving, compassionate, kind, helpful well behaved, polite, Christ loving children. They protect them from the worldly "stuff", the "garbage" that is on TV, the magazine's, and others to keep them pure. To keep their mind's, heart's, and bodies pure until such an age as to not awaken feelings they are too young to understand. That is their word's. If others, including myself, were not so selfish, we all could have that family we dream about. The Cleaver's, the Walton's, the Ingall's, and the Duggar's.

Please tell me where in the Bible it tells of people to cut off your hand, treat women like dirt, take slaves, rape virgins and stone your children? You are taking things out of context. Please read the Sermon on the Mount in the book of Matthew in the New Testament. I think it would be a good place for you to start.

God is a loving God, who gives humans free will. It is not God that causes bad things to happen, but humanity. God gave us free will to be able to choose Him or choose the Devil. If you don't choose God, you automatically choose the devil. That is black and white, plain and simple. The Bible, as you know, says, that people who practice the things you listed will be damned to hell. Cast into the lake of fire. It is not God who puts them there, but themselves. If they repent, and ask God for forgiveness and turn from their wicked ways, and ask JEsus to come and live in their hearts, they will go to heaven. We all have choices to make in our life. That is the beauty of being a follower of Christ. He does not expect me to be perfect, but to realize my sinfullness, repent, and come to Him broken hearted, and accept Him as Lord and Savior.

As for your last question, Yes!! I don't believe others that are not Christians can raise children to be well behaved polite children. Simply because they are raising them on the basis of wordly advice and counsel. They are not raising them to be Godly people. You can be a very good person, but that will not get you into Heaven. We are all sinful human beings and need the forgiveness of Jesus Christ. He died for your sins and mine. That is the ultimate sacrifice!! Jesus dying on the cross was the only acceptable sacrifice in order for us to be redeemed. To be saved from our sins.

The Bible says we are to teach our children about God AND the Bible all day, when rising and when going to sleep. The Duggars do that.

Well, as for the Duggars. If they have more children after Josie, I am sure they will welcome them as they have welcomed all their other children, even if their future children have special needs. Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full. For I know you, says the Lord, even when I knitted you in your Mother's womb.

If we all raised our children on Biblical principles and Godly values and morals, just think of what a better world this would be. Just my opinion, just something to think about. Hope this answers your questions.

This is just the opinion of a thirteen-year-old, so I'm sure everyone will just see me as child. But still, I would like my opinion to be heard.
Raised in a super religious family, I must say that I think Christianity is absurd. Mostly the bible. Christians are so quick to defend their book and demand certain passages be taken literally when they are talking about gay marriage and abortions, yet it seems like they shy away when people mention the scriptures that tell you to cut off your hand, treat women like dirt, take slaves, rape virgins, and stone your children. Yes, all that is in the bible. Christians, please tell this teenager why you want the queers straight, but you laugh when people think that Genesis 19:8 is literal?
Anyway, I have another question that goes along with whoever asked about if they would still praise the Duggars if they were not Christian. Do you believe that the only kind of people fit for raising well-behaved, polite children share the same faith as you (Christian)?

I had triplets at 3 months prematurely. After spending 10 weeks in the NICU, the cost for my insurance company was $278,000. My cost was $3,000 ($1,000 copay each). My insurance premium did not increase and I was not dropped. Those who do not work, pay taxes, or pay their own bills might believe the political propaganda that it costs "millions" per preemie baby. I pay my own bills and a huge chunk of the thousands I pay in taxes each year go to feed the families making their living on welfare, many of whom have only one or two children. Who has a right to say a person who has one child is more responsible than the person who has a dozen? Thank God the Duggars are raising children with strong work ethics. It takes more than 3 tax payers to pay the Social Security benefits of one person - praise God for the Duggars, they'll provide benefits for a half dozen folks!
