Kate Gosselin unveiled a new look on the cover of People magazine, exchanging her signature spiky ‘do for long blond extensions. For the newly divorced reality show mom, the hairstyle change is indicative of a new start in her personal and professional life.
According to celebrity stylist Ted Gibson, who helped to transform Kate’s look, the price of the hair extensions alone totaled $5000. Figuring in an additional $950 for a Gibson haircut and $500 for the color, the total for a Kate-style makeover would run close to $7000. Gibson told RadarOnline that he wanted to transform Kate from “being really ordinary to really extraordinary”.
Gibson revealed that Kate seemed like a really good mom during the makeover, checking on her eight children “several times on the phone” during the 20 hour makeover session. To keep her hair looking stylish, Gosselin will have to have the style maintained every three or four months.
For Kate, the new hairdo comes just in time. Her ex, Jon Gosselin, has been seen about town with a new squeeze, Morgan Christie.

Do you seriously think that she paid for them???! She is basically unemployed at the moment. She is trying to get her career back on track. If you look at TLC’s website, she is all over it. They have video of her getting her hair done, they have pictures of her getting her hair done, and she has blogged about getting her hair done. Geez I wonder where she got the money from?

I use to watch the show before it got all this attention and I always talked to my husband how she treated him like a child. I’m glad John got his head straight.
It is no different then a actor/tress paying thousands for clothes or make up/hair…She has a butt load of money and look at all her kids, well dressed, well fed and well educated..and I find it hard to believe they hurt for anything. So who cares how much she spent on her hair, some moms like their ME time in a on a girls weekend some like it in a salon. I say go for it! If you have the extra cash nothing wrong with it
She does deserve to do something for herself. I dont agree with how she treated Jon on the show, but he did cheat and now its her time to SHINE! If you have all your other priorities straight and taken care of then WHY NOT treat a hard working mom.

Good for her, let’s all keep in mind who’s the cheater….let her have a life! And she’s more devoted to her kids, he obviously spent enough time on himself. How many woman has he been with already? What is he another Tiger Woods wannabe?!

I am so tired of Jon & Kate. Their show was sweet when we watched a young couple trying to raise 8 children! We all thought, wow I don’t think I could do that. Then we had to live thru listening to Kate treat Jon with no respect for years! Now we watch him treating her with no respect! I don’t believe Kate has ANYTHING to bring to the table that would make her a television star! I think they both forgot we tuned in for their 8 beautiful children, and the day to day struggles. I don’t know any mom that can spend the time on makeovers, exercise, vacations and cosmetic surgery. I know I cannot relate to this woman!
