Dennis Hopper Dying From Prostate Cancer: UPDATE

Reports are claiming that Dennis Hopper is losing his fight against cancer.

In October it was announced that the actor was battling with prostate cancer and was admitted to the hospital with severe flu type symptoms.

Immediately Hopper underwent treatment for his illness at the University of Southern California, but it is said that the disease has spread to his bones. His health has been worsening each day. Presently Hopper is in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and has been there since Christmas.

According to Britain’s News, doctors are admitting that the battle for the 73 year old may be over soon with the disease spreading like it is. The publication states the doctors have discussed with Hopper that the illness is incurable and that these may be his final days.

The acting legend has been struggling with the beast of diseases since 2002.

The actor is a legendary star that has performed in films like Apocalypse Now, Speed and Hoosiers, and Blue Velvet. He just finished the shooting for the TV Series Crash.

He is married to his fifth wife, Victoria Duffy, 42 and they both have a 6 year old daughter together.

  53. conjeel says:

Omigoodness.. what is it with all this religious mumbo-jumbo on this blog? My condolences to Dennis Hopper’s family.. I’m sorry he’s dying — but here is news for all of you on this site — THERE IS NO “Better place”… there is no invisible old man with a beard floating in the sky.. and there is no Heaven.. its all a man-made delusion. When you’re dead you’re dead. That’s it. I don’t talk to the dead.. and neither do you all.

The world would be a better place without all these nonsense beliefs.

    • Kay says:

Conjeel, How do you know? Did you die and then come back to give us this news flash?

    • jack_sprat says:

You, sir, have immense faith in your notGod; the Devil sings your philosophers’ praises.

      • conjeel says:

Jack_sprat: I don’t have “immense faith”. I have reason. And, unlike your “faith”, reason has been proven to work. Reason asks for thinking and action and logic… and for those, reason gives back answers and progress and… everything… all of human civilization is made by reason. So I know reason works. Faith asks for nothing and gives nothing. It doesn’t require thought, nor action, nor anything except stupidity and delusion.

Faith is not a virtue. It is the product of lazy and delusional minds… like yours.

    • tandeej says:

In you it’s proven that the devil may win!

Conjeeled – not everyone shares your non belief. What is with all this non-religious mumbo jumbo on this blog? Congrats on your beliefs, but you are as bad as the other side. You are Sofa King funny!

    • Chuck says:

Conjeel, Dennis needs our prayers not a diatribe on your beliefs. In the words of that great American philosopher, Mr. T….”Pity the fool”

      • conjeel says:

Chuck: “Dennis needs our prayers.” ?? Really? What do you think “our prayers” will do? You think he’ll live another 10 years? Cause the invisible man in the sky will listen to YOUR prayer and take away his cancer? You believe that?

And you call me a fool ? Hmmmm…..

  54. gilbert romero says:

Met a man at a Hollywood party where I didn’t belong so I took a seat at the bar next to a round the way guy nursing a drink. We talked, laughed, and sipped together. Just like everyday people, like B’more, Philly, Dorchester, Omaha, and–for sure–Newark. Then my brother-in-law came up, greeted the guy, and asked him about an upcoming movie, which I knew would star Dennis Hopper. The guy said, “Yeah,” and that’s when I realized I’d been speaking with the star who proved to be more man than rebel. Peace and Health, blessings of authentic love.

Johanna Budwig of Germany cured thousands of cancer with flax seeds or flax seed oil in cottage cheese, believe it or don’t. Google it.. I hear it’s also being used in Canada. Also ozone therapy, in Germany, has saved many people.Don’t give up. And don’t trust American “poison, cut, and burn” treatment.

If it is God’s will that you go to His heavenly kingdom, go in love and know that you have given millions left behind so very much enjoyment through your movies. You will live on thru these from now on and you WILL be missed. Thank you. Praying for you and your family.

  75. william elder says:

In “Goodfellas” someone said: The doctors gave a guy 6 months to live, but he couldn’t pay his bill, so they gave him 6 more months.

  76. Maxwerm says:

Sorry to see him go, but to those saying “God Bless you, man.” Doesn’t it seem like god clearly doesn’t care? I mean, why would he be dying of cancer of god had blessed him, unless there is no . . . oh, wait. Yeah. There isn’t.

    • tandeej says:

We’ve taken God out of everything, The Pledge of Allegiance, Schools and people have stopped bringing their children to legitimate places of worship (not the cults or born agains or JW’s). It’s called “Faith”. I had been doubting for quite some time the existence of God. I was filled with pain and started reading the Bible recently. All of a sudden I have had days that have been totally pain-free. I have started praying to God. I believe there is a fight for control between God and the devil who was a fallen angel. That’s why these things are happening all over the world. Killings, wars, governments toppling, tragic disasters, earthquakes, tsunami’s, flooding, fires, etc. Read the book of REVELATIONS and you will find that what was predicted thousand of years ago is now happening. I hate to think this is all there is. And Yes it does sound like mumbo jumbo, but again, that is why it is called ‘FAITH’. I’m not a religious fanatic, but I can see all the signs. God said he’d never flood the earth again and that the next time it would be by fire. Perhaps the ozone problems will be the fire or nuclear war will burn us up. Who knows, but I want to believe I am going somewhere good when I die.

      • conjeel says:

Tandeej: You are not a religious fanatic? Gee… you sound like one to me.

You say you have FAITH ! Is that a virtue? Is that a good thing? It doesn’t sound like a good thing tome. It sounds to me like you’re a delusional. That you can convince yourself that the world is supernatural rather than natural. Sounds to me like you’re a lazy thinker who is prone to being manipulated by charlatans… If they told you that God wanted you to kill someone, you could do it couldn’t you? Cause you believe in nonsense. I don’t think you are virtuous at all. I believe in reason, not faith. Faith is not a virtue. Faith is the product of lazy and delusional minds… like yours.

  80. MadisonRose says:

My thoughts and prayers to Mr. Hopper and his family. Keep fighting the fight and never give up.

Conjeel…it’s called “faith.” I have it and I wish all those non-believers would have a little faith that there IS a God and there IS a heaven. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

    • conjeel says:

      MadisonRose:

So you have “faith.” Well, I have reason. And the problem you have is that faith gives nothing except a comforting delusion. Reason gives us everything: computers, the Internet, cell phones, cars, planes, electricity, and human civilization. Reason provides answers and gives us an understanding of nature and the universe and natural laws. Faith only has one answer to all questions: God. And that is no answer at all.

For example, we can ask “What causes lightning?” Reason uses logic and the scientific method and provides answers that advance our knowledge and the human condition. Faith’s answer is “God causes lightning”. And that is no answer at all ! It is meaningless and answers nothing and creates nothing.

So.. we know that reason is powerful. It is a way of thinking that has helped us create… everything we have. Without reason we would be living in caves and eating raw meat. Now… reason tells us that a supernatural God is impossible. Something that can snap its fingers and create the universe makes no sense… it has no reason.

But Faith doesn’t care whether someting is impossible or not. It requires no reason nor any real thinking at all.. It just requires one to say “I believe”. You can have faith that people from Venus visit you in your room every night. You can have faith that dinosaurs walked the earth 6,000 years ago. You can have faith that you will be rewarded in heaven if you kill someone who doesn’t believe in the same invisible man as you. Faith is stupid and anti-reason. It is the product of lazy and delusional minds.

Now… I wouldn’t necessarily care if faith was just something that stupid people have. The problem however is that faith has caused tremendous human suffering throughout human history. From the Spanish Inquisition to the Crusades to Hitler’s faith in a Master Race to Mohammed Atta’s faith that he would be rewarded in heaven for flying planes into buildings… faith provides the support for any kind of bloodshed and torture… as long as you have faith!

Faith is an idiocy. It retards the human condition and keeps us from using the powers of reason. The world would be much better off with more reason and less faith.

      • Phyllis McLaughlin says:

Faith is something you believe will make life better, or having hope. Although we have differences that we continue to strive to improve the human condition, that we confront wrong and evil behaviors because they hurt us all, that we all are responsible for the human conditions on a gobal or universal level. It is, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. It is about making life beter through faith (hope) and intellect. Man is the only animal that has been given this intellectual capacity, it is there for a reason. So, you see, everything is open to our own personsl interpetations, we choose how to believe, that is our faith. Peace be with you.

        • conjeel says:

Phyllis: Problem with your statement is that faith doesn’t tell us anything about what is wrong or evil… One need a moral compass outside the Bible in order to be able to pick and choose what statements in the Bible you want to follow or not. There are people who have had great faith and have done horrible things in the name of that faith. Only reason can help you determine what is right and wrong… clearly not the Bible, which is full of inconsistancies…

The modern moral code is a secular code, not a Biblical code… There are passages in the Bible which instruct you to kill your neighbor if he doesn’t obey the Sabbath… only secular laws and morals keep us from doing that.

  81. Mayda Windt says:

My brother was diagnosed with prostate cancer a few months ago but thank God it was caught early. My prayers are with you and your family. I enjoyed all of your movies.

  82. conjeel@aol.com says:

conjeel, it’s sad the way you think, but you are clearly aloud to think what you want, because you live in this GREAT COUNTRY KNOWN AS “THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA” Which unfortunately for you was founded on the belief of religion and to be more concise Christianity. If this bothers you then you can easily leave. No one will stop you. GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

    • conjeel says:

Thank you for supporting my claims about the intellectual capacity of the “faithful.”

You are a moron. This country was founded on separation of church and state… the first truly secular country. THAT’s what made it special. Secular morality and government… And… Thank God for that ! (just an expression.. I’m not really thanking some invisible man floating in the sky… cause there is no such thing.)

  83. mike cieslak says:

May God bless you Dennis, I also have the beast and so far am alive. I am also incurable, but am still beating this monster.
