When Jimmy Kimmel commits to a bit, he really commits to a bit.
Amidst the late night talk show debacle on NBC, Kimmel dressed up as Jay Leno for his entire show last night, as guests Chevy Chase and Elisha Cuthbert played along.
“Hello, hello, my name is Jay Leno and let it here by be known that I’m taking over all the shows in late-night,” he quipped, referring to the recent dustup at NBC.
“It’s great to be here on ABC,” he adds. “You know what ABC stands for? Always Bump Conan.”
“Conan O’Brien, today, announced that he is leaving NBC. He released a statement today saying ‘I won’t participate in the destruction of ‘The Tonight Show.’” Fortunately, though, I will,” Kimmell says as Leno.
Chase, even came out wearing an O’Brien wig.
What do you think of Kimmel’s Leno Show: best commentary yet, or did he take it too far?

Jimmy Kimmel Channels His Inner Jay Leno

When are people going to see what a big UNFUNNY,ARROGRANT BULLY Leno is. He can blame the network all he wants but anyone with a brain can see this is ALL his sneaky work. What a pathetic little man.
I loved it! Jimmy was spot on! I’m glad the late night guys (Dave and Jimmy) are behind Conan all the way! Jay should take the high road but he won’t.
Kimmel’s impersonation of Leno was spot on, right down to his lisp. Hilarious. I totally agree with Carol and A: Leno should take the high road and retire, but can’t because he truly is an arrogant and pathetic little man, and will step on anyone to get what he wants.
Both Leno and NBC are going to be the big losers in all this. Leno never should have gotten the Tonight show in the first place. Letterman followed Johnny Carson’s show and was his choice to take over when he retired, but the NBC empty suits wouldn’t listen to him (because of course his only qualification was being the greatest talk show host of all time).
The only way NBC has a hope of salvaging that time slot is to put Jimmy Fallon into it. Leno needs to walk off into his own personal sunset filled with $$ and vintage cars.
