Gaga came out swinging.
Just hours after a Thursday night respiratory attack sidelined a sold-out show at Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana, music sensation Lady Gaga launched her own attack Friday on the daytime TV airwaves. “She’s the hottest thing in music,” screamed Oprah Winfrey as the Grammy-nominated pop singer, her blonde hair in gravity-defying spines and swinging a spiked ball and chain, strode on to the stage and immediately launched into a rendition of “Monster,” her – well – monster hit.
Maybe it was just a twenty-four hour bug.
Later in the show Gaga shared insights into her fashion inspirations, her work ethic and her childhood as Stefani Germanotta. She passed around family snapshots to Oprah: Gaga is not a natural blonde. The singer also discussed her relief efforts for Haiti: all the merchandise she sells on her website as well as the proceeds of a concert scheduled for January 24 will go to earthquake victims.
Meantime the Twitterverse was abuzz all day Friday as legions of devoted followers, wishing Lady Gaga, fervently beamed positive thoughts for her rapid recovery. And Lady Gaga has assured her disappointed Indiana fans that their tickets will be honored at the rescheduled show which has been set for January 26.

After the MESS she has put her LOVED little monsters through SHE SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Booooooooooo !!!!!
Our pop stars should never, ever get sick. They should do 7 shows in 8 nights in 4 cities and if they pass out and the EMT’s come, the show must go on. Seriously, Gaga only seems like a goddess. She is a tiny, albeit athletic, young woman and her body just hit a wall. On doctor’s advice, at great cost to herself, she canceled or postponed 4 shows. I went to the Purdue show, and was glad she felt up to going on Oprah. I wanted to see her. She looked tired and got teary during the interview. Let’s be clear – a 5 minute bit and 10 minute shitdown on Oprah does not require much energy, not when compared to doing a 2 hour show (the 7th in 8 nights at Purdue). I’m glad she’s coming all the way back to Purdue after the US tour ‘finale’ in NYC on 1/24 and pray for her full recovery. (She’s devoting proceeds from the NYC show to Haiti relief.)
I got tickets for the show at purdue and I’m glad she postponed it. Because of all the money I paid to see her I’d rather see her in top condition than have her not perform her best. I want to get my money’s worth.
