Dennis Hopper Files For Divorce While Suffering From Terminal Cancer: UPDATE


Actor Dennis Hopper, said to be in the final stages of prostate cancer, has filed for divorce from his wife of, Victoria Duffy.

The couple have been married for 14 years.

Hopper, 73, known for his starring roles in Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now and Rebel Without A Cause, has been battling prostate cancer since 2002, and is said to be close to death because the disease has now spread to Hopper’s bones.

Hopper’s move to divorce Duffy is believed to be based on irreconcilable differences, and Hopper’s wish to keep Duffy’s inheritance to what was agreed upon under prenuptial arrangements at the time of the marriage. Reportedly, this will leave Duffy with approximately a quarter of Hopper’s estate.

Hopper has agreed to pay child support for the couples six-year-old daughter, Galen, as well as pay support to his wife. He is also requesting joint custody of their daughter.

Duffy was Hopper’s fifth wife and lasted the longest of any of Hopper’s other marriages.

Hopper has enjoyed of 50 years of stardom and has preformed with great stars like James Dean and Paul Newman.

He co-wrote Easy Rider in 1969 and was nominated for an Oscar for that and for his role in Hoosiers, released in 1986.
