No celebrity has handled her personal life with more wisdom, dignity and privacy than Oprah Winfrey. It’s as if she’s always understood exactly what to do to guard her image, and popular public perception. But, as with most celebrities, there are some critics, that are unable to leave well-enough alone.
Crown Publishers has now officially announced that there will be an unauthorized biography released about Oprah Winfrey. The infamous unauthorized celebrity author, Kitty Kelley has written 544 pages that will be released the second weed of April 2010. The printing will release half a million hard cover books onto the market. A down-loadable ebook, and audio book will also be released alongside the hard-copy versions as well.
Kelley is a well-known celebrity gossip monger, and has become infamous for her tell-all biographies of Nancy Reagan, the Bush family and Frank Sinatra. In order to get the information she needed for Oprah’s book, she researched the celebrity for 3 years, and completed over 800 interviews with individuals that are close to Oprah now, or that have been in the past.
Kitty speaks of Oprah Winfrey with incredible, “admiration,” of what the star has accomplished in her life and of the star’s, “complexity,” as a person, so we have yet to see what the book will contain and whether it will be negative or positive.
