Elle Macpherson is taking over as host of Britain’s Next Top Model. The Australian supermodel will be replacing the current host, Lisa Snowdon, when filming begins again next month. Macpherson has appeared on the US and Australian versions of the show.

Macpherson, 45, is best known in the modeling industry as “The Body”. She has her own modeling agency in addition to her own line of lingerie. Macpherson has previously made appearances on various television shows such as Friends and the CW’s now-cancelled “The Beautiful Life”. Many feel the switch to a supermodel host is a great move for the show. Snowdon, the previous host, was widely known for being George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend, but little else.

Britain’s Next Top Model is a spin-off of America’s Next Top Model. Tyra Banks is the creator and host of the American version of the show. British and Australian versions have followed. The show is a contest that has 14 women who want to model competing for one lucrative modeling contract.

Macpherson said in a statement, “I am really enthusiastic and motivated to work with the team of Britain’s Next Top Model…We are looking forward to finding the face that can represent the next generation.”
