Actress Drew Barrymore really likes the concept of being single. She wanted to squash rumors that she once listed her Facebook relationship status as Engaged.

A lot of people were convinced that this was a fact and people were so ready to speculate exactly who she happens to be engaged to. Drew wanted to put these rumors to bed and said not only is she not engaged, but she has never even in fact been on Facebook.

If this fact happens to be true, it would be awfully hard for her to update her Facebook relationship status.

Barrymore has been careful about the concept of marriage ever since her marriage to comedian and Canadian performer Tom Green ended so abruptly. Drew Barrymore also wanted to make it clear that you really can’t control what people say about you, particularly when people want to know about every aspect of your life.

She also wanted to encourage young women to be the themselves and to stop worrying about the plastic surgery that Heidi Montag gets or the operations that Montag buys for her mother.

Young girls should strive to be happy with who and what they are, Barrymore said although silly stories can be fun, they have little overall value.
