‘American Chopper’ To Air Final Episode This Month

The hit series “American Chopper” will be ending this month showing its final episode February 11. Having been on the air for the past six years the popular show will be saying goodbye to its loyal fans.

“American Chopper” which shows the lives of the fun-loving Teutuls has become one of the more popular shows for TLC. While the show originally started out on the Discovery Channel back in 2003 the show moved over to TLC in 2007.

The hit series shows the lives and interactions’s of Paul Teutul Sr. former merchant marine, and his two sons Mikey and Paul Jr. as they manage their business, “Orange County Choppers” in Newburgh New York.

In addition to the show’s focus on their business the show also centered in on the relationships between the Teutuls which often resulted in heated arguments that at times ended in physical fights which brought much of the comedy to the show.

While TLC is sad to see them go they congratulate the Teutuls on their successful show for the past 6 seasons. As of recently Paul Jr. and Paul Sr. are involved in legal issues involving their business including a December lawsuit by Paul Sr. Paul Jr. left in April to pursue full time employment with OCC.

At first I watched the show for the bike builds. But the unhealthy screaming and fighting soon turned me off. Mental illness all around with this show. Paul Sr. will die a lonely man from a heart explosion. Nothing about this show was American.

But what’ll become of Vinnie ???

  3. Debie says:

I’m sorry to see it go, as my husband & I enjoyed the show. The show hasn’t been the same since Paulie left. We enjoyed the playfulness and the fun shows, not the dark shows with all the fighting. We liked how Paulie designed the bikes, not these computer bikes. The show started to go down hill when Vinnie left, Where is Vinnie now??? Paul Sr, has become to serious in his old age. As a 3 time cancer survivor, life is too short. Make up to the boys and enjoy your lives.

I’ve watched the show from the beginning…Cool bikes, sometimes funny the 3 of them…but got OLD in a hurry, week after week….Not sure what Mikey can even do for a SKILL..JR., he’s the real designer along with the help. Losing Vinnie was a real loss in my opinion, but he got tired of the BS. The show lost it’s luster..and JR, needed to be a MAN and be responsible for his part in the company to SHOW UP ON TIME and be an example to the rest of the shop personel. Not surprised the series is over. The arrogance of Sr. is over the edge and has cost him….3 son’s….WAS IT WORTH IT, Paul SR…..I THINK NOT!!!!!

As an owner of 4 businesses in Branson Missouri I can verify that it is great to have a team working for you. In the 19 years I’ve been in business I can also tell you that once any member of the team begins to spell the word team with an “I”, it is time for that individual to hit the bricks.
Paulie has some great ideas, but his work ethic blows. He single handedly brought the moral in that shop to an all-time low. (As you can see by some of the comments from the crew, Paulie has become quite the joke).
As having a bad relationship with my Dad that went on unresolved until it was too late, I really hope these guys can get it together again. (The first step will have to be the Paulie getting over himself). Once that happens, the healing can begin.
Paulie is a very talented individual, but so is his Dad.
Now, as to a previous entry………..Someone wrote that the trend seemed to be the fault of the old man as his 3 sons quit the business. As I understand the situation, the 3rd son you referred to, (Steve), was sold the family business that Sr. started, Orange County Iron Works, for next to nothing based on its value. (Steve by the way, built the current OCC facility, the other two son’s being much younger were given an opportunity to work for, and eventually have 20% ownership in the current business known as OCC. Paulie did not quit, he was fired. Mikey went on a bender after quitting, and eventually wound up in rehab, (Kudos Mikey! Stick with it!)Mikey did quit as a result of the pressure put on him to perform his job as agreed by the contract he wrote!
I do wish that Sr., Jr., and Mikey all work
it out before its too late. Trust me, you can never go back once it is.

I am a big fan of building anything mechanical, but every OCC show was like the one before. I’m amazed it stayed on this long. Same recurring issues: Sr is mad at Jr for one reason or another. Jr is lazy and shows up late. Mikey goes AWOL. And EVERY bike build is behind schedule & under the gun. Take these identical issues and repeat them every show = boring. If you only watched 2 or 3 episodes, then you have seen all seven seasons.

  8. Michael says:

I always liked watching the show for the arguements and the humor in it. As a father I can see how the lack of work ethic in Jr. and Mikey must hurt Sr. but it falls back on how he raised them. I think Sr. had a good business before OCC and his family would have been better off without the show and OCC. The bikes are all show and no go or quality, they are bolt up BS and all started looking similar after the first few. It was Sr.’s cash that got the whole thing rolling so he was the one that put his neck out. It’s just too bad he spoiled the hell out of his kids. Look at the houses and toys Jr and Mikey have, without dad would they have had any of that? No, just two spoiled rich kids that go through life without a clue as to how regular people make a living and preserve family harmony. I’m sure Sr is bitter and hurting inside when you have relatives like his I won’t call them family. Glad to see the show end after the way things have changed in it and in their lives. It will be interesting to see if Jr can really make it without dad, a normal guy would have gone out and gotten a job after leaving, not looked for a way to get more money from the oldman.

  9. Willie says:

The show that built bikes has been gone for a long
time. Glad they are getting rid of the rest of it.

  10. John says:

In the beginning the show was awesome but later on it became too scripted, same old lines, same old fights.

  11. roadskipper@msn.com says:

In quite a few of these comments, a number of them say that life is too short to let all these things happen. I disagree! It isn;t that life is to short, it’s just that you’re dead for so long!! At any rate, whether you agree or not with the family…Paul Sr. owns that company less the stock that the boys’ have. Still…it’s a shame that a family gets tore apart like this. I wish them ALL well in their futures.

  12. fargo1 says:

I dont think anyone really gets the point.
Do you honestly think the yelling and swearing and fighting was REAL?
Please! It’s all about creating Drama! Ratings! Viewer Buzz!
You do realize the Camera was on, dont you?
OCC was nothing more than a TV Soap Opera about some
    ppl who built crappy motorcycles.
    Get a Life!

  13. Ben Dover says:

The old man F’d up everything he touched. Couldn’t even put the fender on right. Built a A frame to lift up a 10 ton press ,ended up using I beams. I think he has ink poisoning. Mike that fat load what a waste of sperm.Stoped watching long ago. The old man telling how he put the bikes together. No wonder his first wife left him. Goodbye and BAD LUCK

yes roaddog812 i do remember that one crazy no cares .does any know what happened to vinny and cody where are they now ?/

  15. Tony R says:

The show was one of the first reality tv shows that had a purpose and goal in mind: to show the struggles of building a company from the ground up and true family/employee conflict. And then Paul Jr. brought it to a whole new level by incorporating his creative brilliance by creating truly unique theme bikes and designs that were touching and truly inspirational, including the New York City Police and Firefighters tribute bike. I think early on, they really cared to some extent about the lives that they were touching, and giving back to the New York City area. Remember the shows that were done for Xmas, the sleigh, and the kids toy giveaways, and calling bingo at the retirement home. Pretty soon however, lots of corporations got on the bandwagon and had to have an OCC original, and greed killed the goose that laid the golden egg. Then Paul Sr. had to go “old school” on us, and created some nice bikes, but the old flame painted choppers of yesteryear just doesn’t cut it, although he had to kick his kids in the butt with his size 13’s to get them to perform, but he just wasn’t creative enough without his sons, and unfortunately they needed to work as a team, in good times or bad to truely create unique bikes. The true unsung heros and backbone of the company included the employees and vendors that really did the brunt work and seemed to never be spoiled by the fame and fortune, probably because they had truely loving and caring families to support and they hardly ever were invited to any unveilings and got screwed out of the incredible profits each corporate theme bike was producing, along with the TLC TV contract. If Paul Sr. wasn’t so greedy, maybe he could have kept some good employees like Vinny, and if Sr. just put his ego aside and concentrate on creating unique bikes that were not just corporate showpieces. Good luck to them all, they will need it because they spoiled a good thing when they had it and couldn’t look past the $. Touching peoples lives in a positive manner and creating jobs and being good stewards of their good fortune and giving back to the community is much more valuable a lesson than all the money in the world.

  16. bruce says:

Paul Sr. has not put the details that Jr. did and I wouldn’t buy a bike of theirs now. Sorry Jr. and Mikey. Good Luck.

  17. Coach.. says:

If I am not mistaken, there was/is another son and a daughter. Barely ever mentioned…maybe they had enough of Paul Sr. early on.I have 3 sons…NOTHING is worth destroying/dividing the entire family. Paul Sr. will die a lonely man.

  18. Dave says:

Sr has his ways…but then again so does Jr, who do you think turfed Vinnie? he was a cool guy with some good work ethics as well as Rick. Mikey was always just the side show and family clown. Jr is destined to be milked by his wife..The one who will make out best will be Mikey.

  19. Doug says:

The SHOW was making them more money, than their shitty bikes, they took the smart path, the money path, just as well cause there bikes suck, there all hollywood bitches

    • Fargo1 says:

Seriously, you could lock Paul SR, Paulie Jr, and fat Mikey together in a round room……..tell them theres a cupcake in the corner….. and they’d spend the rest of the month looking for it!

3 talent-less morons that couldnt find a turd in an outhouse.

They got their 15 minutes of fame and now their History!
      Thank God for small favors.

  20. keith says:

jr. not sr. is the dick ! he is the one who has been mr. hollywood from the start . Show was fun and enjoyable to watch . Hey , give sr. credit , he built bboth the iron works and the bike portion of the business from nothing , he deserves what he has accomplished . self made men are rare .

  21. bretdelman says:

Yes the show went on for 6 years because some people like the blowups and that helped the show ratings. If they would of got along the show would of been boring even though I like fabracation on motorcycles myself. Some of the fighting on the show was just to help ratings at the beginning. I will hope another network would pick them up or maybe another show like it dealing with motorcycles or other vehicles as those are my favorite.

  22. Keith says:

Good riddance Paul Sr, you’re a total asshole, good luck to Mikey and Pauly, hope Rick leaves OCC and pursues his dreams as well. OCC has failed without Pauly!!!!

  23. chimbuck says:

People got sick of all the hot air!! Just build the bike and the show would go on, Sr. is just a big fluff!! Also the dimise just like what will happen with that show HOWE & HOWE TECH , Just show the people what you can do and enough with all the manufactured drama and gooofy fits!!!!!!!!!!

  24. clinton says:

Sr. is a dry drunk he needs to deflate his ego and work with some newcomers, some of you will know what i am talking about

  25. Dave says:

I watched it religiously when the Jr.,Vinnie and Rick were on the show. Sr. was always an ass. Mikey was Mikey. Enough said. Jr. was the idea man. There was no CAD or CNC machine. The creativity was genuine and the bike came together at the end of the show. Now there are too many back stabbing self centered nitwits involved and the bikes mostly come off a shelf. Ricks the only only one left I recognize and enjoy. The rest just suck Sr’s steroid shrunken d… for a place at the trough. Mikey got fucked at the Dubai trip. It was a sad episode but showed the true colors of OCC. I tivo’d a couple since. Sr cutting down Jr. every show, Mikey rehab and playing piano. Enough. I’m glad its over.

  26. fronnie says:

oh yeah, make a lot of money off tv, the worst show in the century…good riddance…that was not a family show and Paul sr is a jerk

  27. jane says:

i also think this show was unhealthy because of all the screamming and yelling at each other! but if your not tought then how do you learn? Seriously tho what did the door ever do to them? lol after a while it seemed like every episode a door was getting broke. more than likely they went bank rupt from all the repairs on the shop itself. angry people need to seek some sort of councelling and i hope thats what paul does or he will never have his kids friendship.

  28. Tony06382 says:

Most people forgot who is the boss that includes is son Jr..Most bosses have reasons for what they do and that should be respeced from all of employees. Most people have never or will never sit in the bosses chair which makes it difficult to understand his point of views. Just because your the bosses son doesn’t give you the right to do as you please. But with all that, it suck to see them go and you have to wonder if their business will survive.
