He’s already the reigning monarch of Twitter, but is Ashton Kutcher also the King of Monologues?
When the handsome heartthrob celebrated his thirty-second birthday last weekend by returning as host of “Saturday Night Live,” he delighted audiences by impersonating Mel Gibson, plugging his upcoming “Valentine’s Day” movie and stripping down to his underwear – just like he did when he first appeared on the show back in the days when he was just another shaggy-haired cast member of “That 70’s Show.”
“No-o-o,” Kucher moaned to his 2003 SNL audience. “I forgot the zipper altogether. Okay. I’m not wearing any pants. Cripes! Oh, God! Be cool.”
This year Kutcher assured the Studio 8H crowd they were seeing a new, improved, “mature” Ashton. But the audience knew better.
It was Kutcher’s fourth time hosting SNL.
In April, 2009 Ashton Kutcher issued a challenge to cable news Network CNN to see who could collect one million followers fastest on the micro-blogging social media site Twitter. Kutcher won – and celebrated his victory by donating 10,000 mosquito nets to the medical charity Malaria No More.
We hope that CNN doesn’t take up the monologue gaunlet: we have absolutely no desire to see Anderson Cooper or Larry King in their underwear.
