Popular rapper, Lil Wayne, was able to postpone his prison sentencing so he could undergo dental surgery. According to his lawyer, the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was supposed to undergo his dental surgery earlier, but his dentist was unexpectedly out of the country.
Lil Wayne is facing prison sentencing because of a 2007 incident in which a gun was found aboard the rapper’s tour bus after a Manhattan concert. Lil Wayne pled guilty to the gun charge this past December.
The suggestion to delay the rapper’s sentencing when uncontested by the New York District Attorney. The DA claimed to have previously spoken to the dentist who corroborated the rapper’s story.
Lil Wayne appears to be heading to jail for a short period of time during quite possibly the peak of his career. The rapper, who performed live at the Grammy Awards on July 31, released his newest album this past week. The album, titled “Rebirth,” is the best selling album in the US and has had the most iTunes downloads since it was released.
The famous rapper is facing additional charges from an unrelated crime, in which authorities allegedly found drugs and guns aboard Lil Wayne’s tour bus following a 2008 concert in Arizona.
