While divorce is never an easy process, actor Dennis Hopper seems to be going through one that is more difficult than most. Hopper, who is a 73-year old former movie star, is seeking a divorce from his fifth wife with the hopes that he can spend more time with their six year old daughter.

Hopper is presently undergoing chemotherapy to help treat an advanced form of prostate cancer. Hopper, who filed the petition for divorce from his wife, Victoria Duffy, on January 16, hopes that within the divorce proceedings he will gain the right to spend more time with their daughter. Presently, the biggest hurdle in the divorce has been a custody battle over the young girl. After Hopper claimed that Duffy had taken his daughter away for extended periods of time, a Los Angeles based judge awarded Hopper daily visitation rights.

The judge further placed a restraining order on Duffy which prevents her from getting within 10 feet of Hopper or any of his other children. Duffy is also not allowed to enter Hopper’s primary residence, which is located in Venice, CA. Many accounts have described Duffy as being extremely volatile and someone who is easily enraged and capable of violence.
