Lady Gaga And Cyndi Lauper Join Forces For Charity

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper stepped out in New York City Wednesday night to benefit AIDS at the annual amFAR awareness benefit. Despite the biting cold and blizzard attacking the northeastern region of the United States, stars came out in droves in support of Natasha Richardson, late wife of Liam Neeson. The duo hit the red carpet in typical eccentric style, and made open statements about the mutual respect and admiration they have for one another.

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are teaming up in HIV prevention awareness with their new campaign, pushing the idea that it’s good for girls to just wanna “have fun”, but to be safe and responsible and aware of the risk of HIV/AIDS which claims thousands and thousands of lives every year. The duo are using their independence and sexuality which spans two different generations of role models for young women everywhere to promote a good cause.

“She’s a good kid”, said Lauper about Gaga, whose fame has skyrocketed in the past year with the release of her album, The Fame Monster. “She is very creative and I am so happy for her. I think that sisterhood is a powerful thing.” Collaboration between Gaga and Lauper is in the works right now.
