Fans of NBC’s popular sketch comedy show, “Saturday Night Live,” have often suggested new celebrities to host the show, but their newest suggestion seems to be their oddest suggestion yet. The newest celebrity who fans are suggesting to host the show is Betty White.

White, who is an 88-year old actress, has been a popular television and movie icon for over 60 years. As of this morning, over 105,000 Facebook users have joined a support group suggesting that Betty White host a show in the near future.

The recent suggestion to have Betty White host the show comes just two days after the Super Bowl, in which Betty White starred in a very popular commercial. In the commercial, White, was playing in a pick-up football game with some young men. White was hilarious in the commercial as she was being tackled by the young men and taunting the men in between plays.

White has won 5 Emmy awards, and been nominated for a dozen more, for her roles in various comedy television shows. White is best known for her role as Betty on the 1980’s comedy show, “Golden Girls.” One of White’s Emmy awards came in 1986, when she won the Best Actress award for her role in “Golden Girls.”
