Trace Adkins Tour Bus Crashes Killing Two People
Nine people were inside Trace Adkins’ tour bus when it was hit by a Ford truck. The driver of the truck, 21-year-old Justin Maxley, crossed into the southbound lane hitting the bus with such force it turned 180 degrees. Two people were killed while five others were injured.
The accident happened on U.S. Highway 71 between Hosston and Ida in Louisiana. The accident happened at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, as it headed for Bossier City, LA where the country star was scheduled to appear with Martina McBride. Despite the accident Adkins said the show would go on.
When the singer arrived at the accident he spoke with those persons that had not been injured. He then left to check on those injured who had been taken to Vivian Hospital. Those in the hospital were all members of Adkins’ entourage.
The two killed were the driver of the Ford truck along with his passenger. According to reports the two were killed on impact. It is believed that the two men had just left a casino. The truck was crumpled, as the impact was so severe, and it would have been impossible for the men to have survived. Authorities stated that witnesses told them the truck had been driven erratically before the accident happened.
