Chris Golightly Disqualified From American Idol

One of the most highly regarded contestants on this season of American Idol, Chris Golightly has been disqualified and will not be placed in the top 24 which was revealed last night.

It is still unclear what may have caused the dismissal, but American Idol has sent home contestants in the past for rules violations, conflicts of interest, and if they had ever previously signed a recording contract that was still valid.

Golightly admitted to signing a contract to be in a boy band, but he said the contract expired in 2009.

To many, shoes alesman Golightly was picked as an early favorite to win the competition.

There was quite a bit of attention focused on Golightly throughout the auditions. He had the curly mop-top hair and they had told the story of him growing up in foster care. Any mention of Golightly was omitted from last night’s selection show, and many thought that was just an accident.

‘Idol” has always has strict rules for participating on the show. In the past, contestants Frenchie Davis, Antonella Barba, and Joanna Pacitti were some of the high profile singers that were removed from the show. Apparently, Tim Urban has taken Golightly’s spot in the top 24.
